Xiaomi’s teaser on Twitter hints at possible Redmi Note 4 launch on January 19.

Xiaomi has already sent out media invites for a launch event in New Delhi on January 19, and if reports are to be believed, the Redmi Note 4 could be launched on the day. Now the company has put up a teaser on Twitter, which adds weight to those claims.

The teaser on Twitter shows the number four in Roman numeral, followed by a caption — “We be dancin’ and you be groovin’! Do you know what will be unveiled on 19th Jan?” The number four in the teaser is a clear indication that the smartphone launching on January 19 is indeed the Redmi Note 4.

As the name suggests, the upcoming smartphone is the successor to the highly popular Redmi Note 3. Recently, the Redmi Note 4 was listed on Amazon India. The listing showed two variants — 16GB storage with 2GB RAM priced at Rs 21,491, and 64GB storage with 4GB RAM priced at Rs 27,055. But these were basically imports, and the official price tags are expected to be much lower.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 was launched in China back in August last year. In terms of design, the Redmi Note 4 look a lot similar to its predecessor. The one major difference however is the presence of a 2.5D curved glass on the front, which adds to the premium-ness of the device. There’s still a unibody metal design, and Mi 5-like chamfered edges.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 specifications

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 flaunts a 5.5-inch 1080p display, and for the Indian market it is expected to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon SoC.

On the camera front, the smartphone comes with a 13-megapixel rear camera LED flash, 5-megapixel selfie camera, a 4,100mAh battery, fingerprint sensor, and connectivity options like dual-SIM card slots (hybrid setup), 4G VoLTE support, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. On the software front, the Redmi Note 4 runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow wrapped under MIUI 8.
