
Lava’s X41+ is a new affordable 4G smartphone with VoLTE support, and Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
Lava has launched a new smartphone under its X-series, called the X41+. Priced at Rs 8,999, the smartphone is currently listed on company’s official website and is expected to be available in retail stores soon.
Talking about the design, you can’t help but feel that the Lava X41+ looks a lot like Sony’s Xperia smartphones with the rectangular body and curved edges. Up front, the smartphone comes with a 2.5D glass on top, which adds to the premium-ness of the phone. The volume rocker and the power button are placed on the right hand side. Among the highlights of the device is the support for VoLTE. VoLTE lets network operators handle cellular voice calls over LTE networks, which results in HD voice clarity, faster call connectivity among others.
Lava X41+ specifications
The Lava X41+ features a 5-inch HD (1280×720 pixels) IPS On-Cell display, and is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core chipset paired with 2GB of RAM. It comes with 32GB onboard storage, which can be further expanded up to 32GB using a microSD card.
On the photography front, the smartphone comes with an 8-megapixel rear camera with auto-focus, LED flash, and 1080p video recording capabilities. Up front, there is a 5-megapixel selfie camera with LED flash. The smartphone is armed with 2,500mAh battery.
On the connectivity front, the smartphone supports dual-SIM card slots, 4G with VoLTE support, Bluetooth V4.0, GPS, 3.5mm jack and Wi-Fi. The Lava X50+ runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow out-of-the-box. The device also supports 12 Indian languages, flip to mute, smart gestures, time lapse video and slow motion video to name a few. The smartphone also comes with a one-hand operation that shrinks the screen to helps users manage everything with just one hand. It also comes with ‘swipe to capture’ feature which allows you to take screenshot by just swiping down with three fingers.
At this price point, the Lava X50+ will be up against the likes of the recently launched Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 which is priced at Rs 9,999, and Moto G4 Play which is priced at 8,999.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 features a 5.5-inch full HD (1080p) display with 2.5D Curved Glass on top. It is powered by a Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 625 octa-core processor. On the camera front, the smartphone sports a 13-megapixel rear camera, and a 5-megapixel selfie camera. The Redmi Note 4 uses a 4,100mAh battery and comes with connectivity options like dual-SIM support, 4G LTE with VoLTE support, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. The Moto G4 Play, on the other hand, flaunts a 5-inch HD (1280×720 pixels) and is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 410 quad-core processor paired with 2GB of RAM, and 16GB internal storage that can be expanded up to 128GB using a microSD card. The smartphone comes with an 8-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel selfie camera with f/2.2 aperture and display flash. Armed with a 2,800mAh battery the smartphone comes with connectivity options like dual-SIM card slots, 4G LTE, Bluetooth 4.1LE and A-GPS. The smartphone runs on Android Marshmallow 6.0.1.
