The Moto G5 and G5 Plus will be launched on February 26.

The upcoming Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2017 in Barcelona is going to witness the launch of a slew of smartphones from brands like LG, OPPO, Gionee, HTC and Asus to name a few. Motorola is also expected to launch the much-anticipated Moto G5 and the Moto G5 Plus smartphones at the event. As the names suggest, the smartphones will be the successors to the last year’s Moto G4 and G4 Plus. While both of the upcoming smartphones have been subjected to multiple leaks, now render of what’s believed to be the Moto G5 Plus for Verizon variant has been leaked.

Looking at the alleged render, the design appears to be in line with the recently leaked photos of the Moto G5 smartphone. The image shows off the metal frame on the sides, gently curved corners and home button/fingerprint scanner up front. The volume rocker and power button are placed on the right edge whereas the back features a circular camera setup followed by Moto branding. There’s a Moto branding on the front as well.

If the render is to be believed, the Moto G5 Plus looks similar to the Moto G4 Plus but with some refinements. Elements like Moto branding on the front and circular rear camera setup are new. Also, the fingerprint sensor on the front now looks to be capsule-shaped instead of the small cubical button. Leakster Evan Blass, who posted the render, claims that this time Motorola will make the Moto G5 Plus smartphone available on Verizon. Previous Moto G phones were not available on Verizon. ALSO READ: MWC 2017: From LG G6 to Nokia 3310, launches to expect

Moto G5 Plus specifications

While previous rumors have indicated that the G5 Plus will come with a 5.2-inch display, latest reports suggest the contrary. It is expected that the smartphone will feature a 5.5-inch display. The AMOLED display will offer full HD resolution at 1080p and come with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection. At the heart of the smartphone, will most likely be Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 625 processor clocked at 2GHz and paired with Adreno 506 GPU and 4GB of RAM. The smartphone will additionally come with onboard storage of 32GB which would be further expandable via a microSD card.

In the photography department, the Moto G5 Plus could sport a 16-megapixel rear camera with dual-LED flash. Some rumors suggest that the smartphone might house a 12-megapixel rear camera. Up front, the smartphone will come with a 5-megapixel selfie camera. The smartphone will be armed with a 3,080mAh battery and is expected to run Android Nougat out-of-the-box.

On the other hand, the Moto G5, being the smaller variant, is likely to feature a smaller 5-inch full HD display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 chipset paired with 2GB/3GB of RAM and 16GB/32GB of internal storage. On the camera front, it is expected to come with a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front camera. It is expected to be fuelled by a 2,800mAh battery and run Android 7.0 Nougat out-of-the-box.

Moto G5 Plus price

Rumors suggest that the phones could be priced around $300,  Rs 20,400 approximately, in the international markets. In India, the smartphone is said to make its release in March, soon after MWC 2017, and it is speculated to be priced slightly lesser at $230, Rs 15,600 approximately.
