Apple's much-rumored iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus and the Watch Series 2 are out in the open. Here's how people on the internet react to Apple's announcements last night.
At a glitzy event tonight, Apple took the wraps off the iPhone 7 and the larger iPhone 7 Plus. Apple also unveiled the second-generation of its smartwatch, the Watch Series 2. As is the case every year, this is among the biggest and most awaited tech events in a calendar year. After being under the radar for ‘lack of innovation’ for a while now, this launch was sort of a make or break event for Apple. With the announcements out of the way, here’s how people on the internet react to Apple’s new products.
Naturally, being one of the biggest annual launch events in the tech industry, hundreds and thousands of people around the globe were glued to their screens watching every move by Apple last night. It looked like people were sitting ready with their smartphones in their hands to pass their critics at every announcement that Apple made. Within seconds of the unveiling, people immediately took to the internet to share their satisfaction or disappointment with the launch. While some were impressed by the launch, some expected Apple to have done better.
for the first time ever, I am impressed at the new #iPhone7 ‘s announcement. Most of the changes are under the hood–that is what matters

At the same time, US Presidential candidate Donald Trump thought it wise to comment on the Apple event last night as well.
I cannot believe that Apple didn’t come out with a larger screen IPhone. Samsung is stealing their business. STEVE JOBS IS SPINNING IN GRAVE

Besides the new iPhones, Apple also unveiled the next-generation Apple Watch Series 2. And people had quite mixed reaction towards it.
Nice that the iPhone 7 & Apple Watch Series 2 have so many features to help me walk, hike & jog.
I plan to sell my car to buy them.— Ramesh Srivats (@rameshsrivats) September 8, 2016
The revolutionary new Apple Watch 2 will be twice as thin, last twice as long, and be completely incompatible with existing bands.

Design: Apple more or less retained the old design of the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus with the new iPhones. Clearly social media was expecting a little more out of Apple in terms of design. Although the new iPhone have been made water resistant, Apple fans were expecting a waterproof design.
The iPhone 7 is water resistant . NOT Water proof . Y’all better not try it 😂 pic.twitter.com/uatdzy1QJv — Lexi (@youneededlexi) September 7, 2016
For the first and last time water proof and water resistant (which is what was said) IS NOT the same thing you idiots. 🙄😩 #AppleEvent

However, some seemed satisfied with the new upgrades.

Demise of 3.5mm audio jack: Re-asserting the rumors, Apple has dropped the 3.5mm audio jack in favor of the lightning port. Along with that it also announced its first ever truly wireless headphones called AirPods, and the first reactions from people weren’t all that great.

TouchID: Apple has done an impressive job at revamping its Touch ID feature, which has been now replaced with a physical clickable button with a capacitive fingerprint scanner, and naturally the social media is celebrating this change.
I like my headphone jack and my clicky Touch ID home button + I just got my phone replaced for free this past weekend. No #iPhone7 for me? — Richard Padilla (@chadvictory) September 7, 2016
Thank god @Apple has changed the home button on the iPhone 7 though because the other home button is honestly crap! @AppleSupport #iPhone7

Battery: Apple iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus finally come with a larger battery. Although Apple claims that iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus have bigger battery life ever on iPhones, but it also announced that the new iPhones battery would last just about two hours longer, which of course isn’t enough.
Wicked an extra two hours battery life on the #iPhone7 which now means I will have a phone I can use for an hour and half! — Smack my Bilic up ⚒ (@dustydockets) September 7, 2016
