Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 pre-order to kick off on March 17: Price, specifications and features

The Samsung Galaxy tab S3 will go on sale on March 24.


This year at MWC 2017, Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Tab S3, which was also touted as an Apple iPad Pro competitor. Now, while the company took the wraps off the device, the date of release and the price tag it would carry were kept concealed. A few days ago the tablet was spotted online with a price tag of $600, but there was still no confirmation. However, now the the date of release, the availability, pricing and details of the pre-booking deadline of the Galaxy Tab S3 have all been revealed.

In line with a recent report, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 will be priced at $600 (which is about Rs 40,000), and the pre-bookings for the same will kick off by March 17, and the device will go on sale on March 24. The Galaxy Tab S3 will be available to buy on Samsung’s official website, Best Buy, Amazon, and a few other retailers. Additionally, the Pogo keyboard which was showed off along with the tablet, will also go on sale by March 24, and will be available for a price tag of $130, which translates to Rs 8,500.

As for the guts, built and strength of the device, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 features a 9.7-inch Super AMOLED QXGA display with a resolution of 2048×1536 pixels, and has an aspect ratio of 4:3. Under the hood, the tablet is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 quad-core processor paired with 4GB of RAM. The tablet comes with 32GB of built-in storage which can be further expanded up to 256GB via a microSD card.

For photography, the Galaxy Tab S3 sports a 13-megapixel rear camera with auto-focus and f/1.9 aperture. On the front, the tablet offers a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.2 aperture and auto-focus for video calling and selfies. A 6,000mAh battery fuels the tablet, which comes with a fast charging support. Samsung claims that the tablet’s battery can offer a runtime of up to 12 hours. The tablet comes in two variants – one with LTE compatibility and the other with Wi-Fi only. In a more elaborated manner, the connectivity options available on the Galaxy Tab S3 include Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth, GPS and USB Type-C 3.1 for charging and data transfer. The cellular variant of the Galaxy Tab S3 supports LTE Cat.6 with maximum speeds up to 300Mbps. The tablet also features a fingerprint scanner which is embedded on the Home button. The tablet also houses four speakers, out of which two are placed at the bottom. On the software front, the Galaxy Tab S3 runs Android 7.0 Nougat-based TouchWiz UX.
