Intex has launched a new series of smartphone, called ELYT. ELTY-e1 is the first smartphone to launch under this category.
Intex has added another smartphone to its budget category with the launch of the ELYT-e1. The smartphone is listed on the company’s official website, and is priced at Rs 6,999. The ELYT-e1 supports 4G VoLTE, runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow, it will be available to buy from all Intex retail stores.
In terms of design, the smartphone comes with a brush finished back cover along with a fingerprint scanner placed just below the rear camera. Up front, the smartphone comes with capacitive touch buttons for navigation. On the right hand side, you have the usual volume rocker and power button. Intex has also preloaded few VAS apps including Intex My Wallet, LFTY, Game Play, Game Store and Vdio Play.

The Intex ELYT-e1 comes with a 5-inch IPS Oncell display, with a display resolution of 1280×720 pixels, and 294ppi. At the heart of the smartphone is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 410 quad-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz. It is also paired with 2GB RAM, along with 16GB flash storage that can be expanded up to 128GB via microSD card.
On the camera front, the smartphone comes with 8-megapixel front and back camera. Both the cameras are accompanied by LED Flash. Running on Android 6.0 Marshmallow, the smartphone is backed by a 2,200mAh battery. On the connectivity front, the smartphone comes with dual-SIM card slots, 4G VoLTE support, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS, FM Radio, USB 2.0, 3.5mm audio jack.
Priced at Rs 6,999, the Intex ELYT-e1 will face competition from smartphones like the Xiaomi Redmi 4A and Moto E3 Power. Priced at Rs 5,999, the Xiaomi Redmi 4A sports a 5-inch HD (720p) IPS display, and is powered by Qualcomm’s 64-bit Snapdragon 425 quad-core chipset paired with Adreno 308GPU. The smartphone comes with 2GB of RAM, and 16GB of internal storage that can be expanded using a microSD card. It sports a 13-megapixel primary camera, and a 5-megapixel selfie camera up front. There’s also no fingerprint sensor onboard. Connectivity options include dual-SIM card slots, 4G with VoLTE support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS. On the other hand, the Moto E3 Power is priced slightly higher at Rs 7,999 and features a 5-inch IPS HD (1280×720 pixels) display. It is powered by MediaTek’s MT6735p quad-core processor paired with 2GB of RAM. There is also 16GB onboard storage that can be expanded using a microSD card. The phone sports an 8-megapixel rear camera with auto-focus and LED flash. Up front is a 5-megapixel selfie camera for video calling and selfies. The Moto E3 Power comes with a 3,500mAh battery with Turbo Charging feature. On the connectivity front, the smartphone includes 4G VoLTE support, 3.5mm audio jack, Wi-Fi 802.11n, Bluetooth 4.0 LE, GPS and dual-SIM card slots. The smartphone runs Android 6.0 out-of-the-box.
