Samsung today launched the Galaxy On Nxt 2017 Edition in India today. Priced at Rs 16,900, the smartphone is available in black and gold color variants. The On Nxt 2017 Edition will be available for purchase starting midnight today exclusively via Flipkart.
The Galaxy On Nxt 2017 Edition and the last year’s on NXT come with a common set of specifications but has one main difference — the latest handset has 64GB onboard storage as compared to 32GB storage. Interestingly, the predecessor had launched in India for Rs Rs 18,490 and is currently selling for Rs 15,000 approximately.
The Galaxy On Nxt 2017 Edition also supports expandable storage up to 256GB via microSD. The handset retains the metal unibody design and houses a 3,300mAh battery, which comes with several power management features. It has a Power Planning mode to let users manage the battery with features like Reserve Battery, Extend Battery and Call Forwarding on zero battery.

The handset measures 151.7 x 75.0 x 8.0 mm and weighs 167grams. It features a 5.5-inch Full HD display (1080p) with a 2.5D curved glass for protection. It is powered by an octa-core Exynos 7870 SoC clocked at 1.6 GHz and is paired with 3GB of RAM and ARM Mali T830 MP1 GPU for graphics. In terms of optics, the Galaxy On Nxt 2017 Edition has a 13-megapixel primary camera with LED flash, Auto-Focus and f/1.9 aperture. It has an 8-megapixel front-facing camera with f/1.9 aperture. The handset runs on Android Marshmallow 6.0 with TouchWiz UI on top. It also has a fingerprint scanner integrated into to the home button on front panel.
Connectivity features include dual-SIM (dual-standby), 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, WiFi Direct, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, Glonass, Beidou, and a MicroUSB port.
Looking at the specifications, the Samsung Galaxy On Nxt 2017 Edition will compete with the likes of Moto G5 Plus, Coolpad Cool 1 Dual, Honor 6X, Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 and other popular smartphones in this price range.
