The OPPO F3 seeks to compete against the current dual selfie camera smartphone Vivo V5 Plus.
Ahead of the launch on May 4, press images of OPPO F3 have leaked online. The next-in-line of OPPO’s selfie-centric smartphones, it will boast a dual-camera module on the front as it seeks to compete against the Vivo V5 Plus. The OPPO F3 has been subject to a series of leaks and revelations but the latest images showcase the device in its entirety.
Acquired by Android Pure, the images hint at thin side bezels on the display of the OPPO F3. On the front rests the much talked about dual camera module. Based on the images, it is difficult to make out if there a front flash to accompany the camera. There is also a front home button which most likely will double up as a fingerprint sensor. On the back of the smartphone is the split antenna design. The rear camera with LED flash is placed on one corner followed by the company logo. If these images are anything to go by, then we might see two color choices of Rose Gold and Gold for the OPPO F3.
OPPO F3 specifications and features
Thanks to a series of leaks and revelations we already have a fair idea about the look and feel of the OPPO F3. Based on the leaked images, the smartphone would feature a metal unibody design with a physical home button on the front that could double up as a fingerprint sensor. With a rather standard design architecture, the OPPO F3 is likely to feature a 5.5-inch full HD display, making it suitable for one-handed operation.
Under the hood, the OPPO F3 could be powered by MediaTek’s MT6750T 64-bit octa-core processor with Mali-T860 GPU and 4GB of RAM. It is likely to pack 64GB of onboard storage which could be further expanded up to 128GB via microSD card. There have been alternative reports about the device being powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 653 SoC with 4GB of RAM. Coming to the USP of the smartphone, given that it is a selfie-centric smartphone, the front camera is where OPPO seems to have paid more attention. In order to achieve wider group selfies or have more depth in individual portraits, the dual-camera setup comes to play. The OPPO F3 is also speculated to pack a combination of 16-megapixel and 8-megapixel camera with 120-degree wide-angle view on the front. This combination works the same way as on the Vivo V5 Plus. However, the latter boasts a 20-megapixel sensor with 8-megapixel sensor for depth.
Other than the selfie-focused front camera, the OPPO F3 is expected to feature a 13-megapixel rear camera with video recording capabilities of up to 1080p. Fuelling the smartphone is said to be a 3,200mAh battery but without any support for fast charging.
In terms of connectivity, the OPPO F3 could feature 4G VoLTE support, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS and hybrid dual SIM (Nano + Nano). On the software front, it is likely to run Android 6.0 Marshmallow with ColorUI 3.0 layered above.
