The latest update brings UI change in built-in apps of the flagships.
OnePlus has been consistent with releasing updates on its OxygenOS Open Beta platform for its flagship smartphones, the OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T. The company rolls out updates on a weekly basis with the latest OxygenOS Open Beta 6 now available for the OnePlus 3T and OxygenOS Open Beta 15 for the OnePlus 3. Although the name differs, both the flagships receive the same improvements. The previous update OxygenOS Open Beta 5 primarily focused on bug fixes. The latest update brings a slew of changes in appearance with the UI of native apps on the OnePlus 3T and OnePlus 3, and bug fixes as well.
To start with, the dialer and incoming call interference will be changed with the new OxygenOS update. Users can now swipe down to answer incoming calls and swipe down to reject. This update will also bring a refreshed UI to Messages, Settings, and Contacts. Messages and Settings on the OnePlus 3T and the OnePlus 3 also get a new action bar. This action bar will be collapsible and expandable as well. OnePlus says that more customizations on the action bar will be rolled out in the future.
With this update, OnePlus has optimized the notifications system which alerts when the apps are using a lot of battery. In addition to this, the update brings Bluetooth optimizations and Night mode optimizations, along with bug fixes. Note that this update is only for users who have flashed an Open Beta who will receive it as an over-the-air (OTA) update.
For those who wish to switch to the Open Beta platform can do so by heading over to the official website of OnePlus. However switching back to the stable will require users to factory reset their smartphone thereby erasing all existing data. As seen before, OnePlus has also shared links for feedbacks on the latest UI changes given through the update.
