
The OnePlus 5 will be available under open sales starting next week.
OnePlus 5 consumed as much of this week in news as the first sales, in entirety. Given the excitement, the flagship smartphone went out of stock on the first day of its online sales in India via Amazon India on June 22. For fans in India as well as those around the world, the company will be making the OnePlus 5 available on June 27 under open sales, which basically means there won’t be any requirement for access code or pre-registration.
The flagship smartphone is priced at Rs 32,999 for the 6GB RAM model and Rs 37,999 for the 8GB RAM model. It was available under an exclusive early access sale in India through Amazon.in this week. However, it went out of stock on the first day itself. The company also had pop-up stores across 5 major cities in India including Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Chennai and Bangalore. While Mumbai and Delhi both had the first-come-first-serve showcasing and sales on June 22 and June 23, Chennai and Bangalore have the stores open today and Hyderabad users will be able to experience the device hands-on tomorrow.
The OnePlus 5 has been launched across all countries and will be available via open sales on June 27. It is worth mentioning that prior to the launch of the smartphone, OnePlus announced that unlike its past devices, the OnePlus 5 will be available without invites. It will be available through the company’s official online store, partner stores as Amazon India, and OnePlus Experience Stores in select cities. To recall, the OnePlus 5 is equipped with a 5.5-inch full HD display and is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC paired with 6GB/8GB of RAM and 64GB/128GB of internal storage. It features a pair of dual rear camera including a 16-megapixel primary lens and a 20-megapixel telephoto lens. Up front, there is a 16-megapixel camera. It is fuelled by a 3,300mAh battery and runs the newer Android 7.1.1 Nougat out-of-the-box with Oxygen OS layered above. Connectivity options on the smartphone include 4G VoLTE support, dual SIM, Bluetooth 5.0, and Wi-Fi.
