Samsung has launched the Galaxy On7 (2016) in China for around Rs 16,000. The smartphone comes with a fingerprint scanner.


Samsung has launched the 2016 version of the Galaxy On7 in China. The Samsung Galaxy On7 (2016) has been listed on the company’s China website and is priced at 1,599 Yuan (approximately Rs 16,000). The smartphone is available in three colors, gold, pink and black. As of now, the smartphone is available in China and there is no word on its availability in India and other markets. Samsung is known to come up with upgraded versions of the same smartphone and the Samsung Galaxy On7 (2016) is an upgraded version of the 2015 version. The smartphone is equipped with a fingerprint scanner which is embedded in the home button.

This is the third smartphone that Samsung has launched in its On7 series. The previously launched smartphones were Galaxy On7 (2015) and the Galaxy On7 Pro. The Samsung Galaxy On7 (2015) was launched last year for Rs 10,990. The smartphone features a 5.5-inch HD TFT display. Under the hood runs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 quad-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz. It comes with 1.5GB RAM and 8GB onboard storage further expandable up to 128GB. It runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop and is powered by a 3,000mAh battery. The smartphone sports a 13-megapixel AF camera with LED flash and a 5-megapixel selfie camera.

The Samsung Galaxy On7 (2016) smartphone features a 5.5-inch full HD TFT display. Under the hood runs an octa-core Snapdragon 625 processor clocked at 2GHz paired with Adreno 506 GPU. The smartphone comes with 3GB of RAM and onboard storage of 32GB which is further expandable up to 256GB via a microSD card.

On the photography front, the Samsung Galaxy On7 (2016) sports a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and equipped with f/1.9 aperture and full HD video recording at 30fps. It also sports an 8-megapixel front camera with f/1.9 aperture. Samsung Galaxy On7 (2016) is powered by a 3,300mAh battery along with fast charging support. On the software front, the smartphone runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow. Its connectivity options include dual-SIM support (Hybrid SIM slots), 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2 and GPS.

If the Samsung Galaxy On7 (2016) were to be launched in India, looking at its possible price and specifications, it would compete against the likes of the Lenovo Vibe K5 Note and the Moto G4 Plus. Lenovo Vibe K5 Note is priced at Rs 13,499 and features a 5.5-inch full HD display. Under the hood, runs a 1.8GHz MediaTek HelioP10 64-bit octa-core processor. It comes with 4GB RAM and 32GB onboard storage and sports a 13-megapixel rear camera along with an 8-megapixel selfie camera. The Moto G4 Plus was launched this year in May for Rs 14,499. The smartphone features a 5.5-inch full HD display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 Protection. Under the hood runs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 octa-core 1.5 GHz processor. It comes with 3GB RAM and 32GB onboard storage. The smartphone runs on Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 and is powered by a 3,000mAh battery. Moto G4 Plus sports a 16-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel selfie camera.
