The OnePlus 5 is an Amazon India exclusive and was recently unveiled in the country.

Amazon is, for the first time, hosting its Prime Day sale in India and there will be a host of offers across different brands. The offers are valid only for Amazon Prime members, and the sale will continue for 30 hours in India. The sale will kick off at 6PM today, and will continue till 11.59 PM on July 11. This is the first time Amazon is hosting the Prime Day sale in 13 countries across the globe. While most of the offers were revealed by Amazon a day prior to the sale, there are some offers that continue to crop up on the site. The latest offer is on the recently launched OnePlus 5 smartphone.

OnePlus 5 continues to be an Amazon India exclusive, and the e-commerce site is offering discounts on the purchase of the smartphone. For HDFC debit and credit card buyers, the OnePlus 5 comes with flat 15 percent cashback (maximum Rs 2,000) on both the 64GB and 128GB variants. Additionally the smartphone also comes with exchange offer with up to Rs 2,000 off on the exchange of old smartphone. However, this offer is applicable only for OnePlus 5 64GB variant. Additionally, Amazon India is also offering Rs 250 off on the purchase of Marsboy portable speaker, which is available for Rs 1,199 on Amazon India.

OnePlus 5 specifications, features

OnePlus 5 is the latest OnePlus smartphone that was unveiled last month, and it is the most premium device from the company yet. The smartphone comes with a 5.5-inch FHD AMOLED display with a 2.5D curved glass, and a Snapdragon 835 chipset coupled with two internal storage and RAM variants. The 64GB storage variant comes with 6GB RAM, and the 128GB storage variant features 8GB RAM. ALSO READ: Honor 8 Pro or OnePlus 5: Which is the better buy?

On the rear is a 16-megapixel + 20-megapixel dual-camera setup. The smartphone comes with a front selfie camera with 16-megapixel resolution. On the connectivity front, OnePlus 5 supports 4G LTE, NFC, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS. The smartphone comes with a 3,300mAh battery and Dash Charge fast charging support. The device runs Oxygen OS 4.5.0 based on Android Nougat 7.1.1 out-of-the-box. OnePlus 5 is available at a retail price of Rs 32,999 for the base 32GB/6GB variant, and Rs 37,999 for the more premium 128GB/8GB variant.

However, right after launch, OnePlus 5 has run into multiple problems with users complaining about the build quality as well as software issues on the phone. Initially, most users complained about Wi-Fi problems and OnePlus released a patch to resolve the issue. Many users are also facing issues with the volume rocker of the device — it is either attached very loosely and falls off or makes a clicking noise. Additionally, there are also problems in the display and the audio of the smartphone. While the audio problems are caused by a wrong line of code, which is expected to be resolved in an upcoming OTA update, the jelly scroll effect is termed “normal” by OnePlus.

The brand has managed to create a huge fan following in India, and the smartphone was quickly out-of-stock. The phone takes on the Honor 8 Pro smartphone recently announced in India. Honor 8 Pro will also be a part of the Amazon Prime Day sale, and will be available for Prime members starting today evening 6PM. Other buyers will have to wait till July 13 to place the order.
