Lava Z60 running Android Nougat 7.0 spotted on Geekbench

Following the launch of Lava A93 today, Lava Z60 surfaces online in benchmarking test.


Lava is said to be working on a new another smartphone, which is being dubbed as the Lava Z60. The smartphone has appeared on benchmarking website Geekbench, revealing major details. So far, there is no word on the pricing or availability of the smartphone.

As per Geekbench listing, the Lava Z60 offers entry-level specifications and is expected to be a budget smartphone. It clocked 444 points in the single-core test, while it got 1243 points in the multi-core test. Further, the smartphone is powered by a quad-core MediaTek MT6737 processor clocked at 1.09 GHz and has 1GB of RAM. On the software front, the upcoming Lava smartphone runs on the Android Nougat 7.0 out-of-the-box.

As of now, other details about design and features remain sketchy. Although, the benchmarking listing hints at the imminent launch of the Lava Z60. The smartphone is expected to hit the shelves later this year. As far as pricing is concerned, we are guessing the smartphone with the aforementioned entry-level specification could be priced around anything between Rs 5,999 and Rs 7,999. Also, the company today launched the Lava A93 smartphone, which is priced at Rs 7,999. The smartphone has a 5.5-inch HD (720p) IPS display and offers a pixel density of 267ppi. It is powered by a quad-core processor clocked at 1.2Ghz and has 2GB of RAM. The Lava A93 comes with 16GB of internal storage, which can be expanded up to 32GB via micro SD card. It runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow out-of-the-box.

In terms of optics, the Lava A93 has an 8-megapixel primary camera and a 2-megapixel rear camera, both coupled with LED flash. It runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow out-of-the-box. For connectivity, it supports dual-SIM, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS/AGPS. The smartphone doesn’t support 4G, which could work negatively for it among the competition. At this price tag, the Lava A93 smartphone competes against the likes of the Moto C Plus, the Redmi 4A, the Redmi 4 and the Micromax EVOK.
