WhatsApp has undergone many changes in the past few months. Now, yet another leak suggests that WhatsApp is testing YouTube integration for its app. Which basically means, WhatsApp will soon let you view YouTube videos without leaving the app.
The feature was spotted by WABetaInfo on the latest WhatsApp beta build for iOS. So essentially, WhatsApp will allow users to play YouTube video links in a picture-in-picture mode. The floating window that appears on the screen can be resized using pinch-to-zoom gesture. Further, the app will also give users an option to open the video in fullscreen mode, and hide the chat window. According to the report, users won’t be able to continue watching the video once they leave the app, or switch to any other chat window. The company has been making many new changes to its platform in the past few months. It recently launched a new Night Mode camera feature for iOS users. The feature lets users click brighter images at night using the in-app camera. WhatsApp recently also updated the app to share all types of files. WhatsApp user can now share APK files, and zipped folders over the platform. Android users can share files with a maximum size of 100MB whereas, for iOS users, the limit is set at 128MB. WhatsApp is also working on integrating UPI payment into its app. As of now, the messaging platform is in talks with SBI and NPCI for further approval. Apart from WhatsApp, Facebook and Google are also trying to integrate payment into their apps.
