LG K8 reportedly launched in India, priced at Rs 9,999: Specifications and features

LG K8: In addition to the smartphones already announced, LG has also quietly listed the K8 on one of its sites. It is likely to share the stage at MWC as well. It features a 5-inch 720p display, MediaTek MT6735 quad-core processor, 1.5GB RAM, 8GB internal storage, and microSD card slot. It also offers an 8-megapixel rear camera, 5-megapixel selfie camera, a removable battery, and connectivity options like dual-SIM card slots, 4G LTE support and NFC.

The LG K8 might be available in India via offline channels.


Earlier this year, LG launched two smartphones under its K-series smartphone. Called K8 and K5, the smartphones are the budget offerings from LG. Now, according to mobile retailer Mahesh Telecom, the K8 smartphone has been launched in India with a price tag of Rs 9,999 against the market price of Rs 11,000. However, the exact availability date of the device isn’t known.

The smartphone features a  premium design with curved edges and a textured back. In terms of specifications, the smartphone features a 5-inch HD display. Under the hood, it is powered by 1.3GHz quad core processor paired with 1.5GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded via microSD card. On the camera front, the smartphone sports 8-megapixel rear camera and 5-megapixel front camera. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, NFC and USB 2.0. It is powered by a 2,125mAh battery. On the software front, the smartphone runs Android Nougat out-of-the-box.

The Redmi Note 4 comes with a metal unibody design and comes with a 5.5-inch full HD (1080p) display. It is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 625 octa-core processor clocked at 2GHz. It comes with a 13-megapixel camera at the back and a 5-megapixel selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture up front. On the other hand, the Micromax Selfie 2 features a 5.5-inch display. It is powered by a quad-core MediaTek MT6737 SoC clocked at 1.35GHz  and coupled with 3GB of RAM. The smartphone houses a 3,000mAh battery and offers support for dual SIM, 4G, VoLTE, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth. On the camera front, it is equipped with an 8-megapixel selfie camera with Sony IM13 and LED flash. On the rear, it has a 13-megapixel primary camera with f/2.0 aperture, Auto Scene Detection, and Panorama mode.
