Two more Samsung smartphones get Android 7.0 Nougat update.

Samsung is now rolling out Android 7.0 Nougat update for two smartphones launched earlier this year – Galaxy A7 (2017) and Galaxy A5 (2017). The two smartphones were essentially shipped with Android 6.0 Marshmallow, and can now be upgraded with OTA updates reaching India. The Android 7.0 Nougat update file of over 1GB promises a host of new features and improvements.

According to SamMobile, the Android 7.0 Nougat update for the Galaxy A5 (2017) has a file size of 1385.98MB, and the firmware version is labeled as A520FXXUBQI5. The same for the Galaxy A7 (2017) has a file size of 1376.35MB and firmware version A720FXXU2BQI2. Users are recommended to download the update files over a Wi-Fi to save on cellular data.

As per the changelog, Android 7.0 Nougat will bring features such as improved notifications, Quick settings, multi-window feature, and other performance improvements to the two smartphones. Further, the update also brings nifty features like Dual Messenger, and Samsung Pass. The Dual Messenger functionality will allow users to run two accounts on the same app. The Dual Messenger feature is currently supported on apps like WhatsApp, Facebook, Facebook Messenger, Skype, and Snapchat. On the other hand, Samsung Pass is company’s identity or security management app. It enables users to securely access accounts via biometric authentication.
