Huawei to launch its first smartphone with 18:9 aspect ratio and minimal bezels.
Several manufacturers launched devices this year with displays going end-to-end. Huawei is believed to have similar plans as well. The Huawei RNE A100 smartphone, earlier spotted on TENAA, could very well be the Huawei G10. New images of the smartphone have now surfaced.
Huawei is expected launch the device on September 22 in China, and could be unveiled alongside the anticipated flagship Mate 10 smartphone. According to images leaked by a Weibo user, the Huawei G10 flaunts a metal unibody design and is very similar to what we have seen in renders so far. On the front, the smartphone has a display with its edges going to the extreme corners and narrow chins at the top and bottom. On the top is the earpiece, front camera setup, and other sensors. The bottom chin only has the Huawei branding and without a home button.
On the back panel is the dual camera setup with LED flash, which is placed above the camera ring. The LED flash is placed above the top antenna band. The Huawei G10 has a fingerprint sensor mounted at the back to unlock and wake the smartphone. On the right of the device, you can find the volume rocker and the power button.
The Huawei G10 is said to come with a 5.9-inch full HD (1080p) display. It will be powered by the company’s proprietary HiSilicon Kirin 659 Soc aided by a 4GB RAM. Further, the smartphone will come with 64GB of onboard storage. It’s not clear if the storage will be expandable or not. Going by the image, Huawei is expected to ship the smartphone in a Metallic Gray color option. However, it might launch a Black and Blue variant as well. The camera setup on Huwaei G10 is reportedly going to be the smartphone’s USP. If reports are anything to go by, Huwaei G10 could be the first smartphone by the Chinese manufacturer to come equipped with four cameras. In terms of optical configuration, the G10 will feature a pair of 16-megapixel RGB and 2-megapixel monochrome camera sensors at the back. Up front, it will have a 13-megapixel RGB and 2-megapixel monochrome sensors for selfies and video calling. The G10 smartphone is backed by a 3,340mAh battery and runs Android 7.0 Nougat based EMUI 5.1 custom OS.
To put this in perspective, Huwaei Mate 10 is said to come with a 6.1-inch Quad HD AMOLED display and it will be powered by high-end HiSilicon Kirin 970 SoC. In addition, it is rumored to come with 6GB of RAM, and 64GB of expandable storage. The smartphone is likely to be shipped with Android 7.1.1 Nougat based EMUI custom OS.
