Lava Z60 with Android 7.0 Nougat OS launched in India for Rs 6,499: Specifications, features

Lava has quietly launched a new smartphone in India today. Called Z60, the smartphone is priced at Rs 6,499, and will be offered in Gold and Black color options. The smartphone was earlier spotted on Geekbench listing, and the official specifications are the same.

Powered by a MediaTek MT6737 quad-core SoC clocked at 1.2Ghz, the Lava Z60 comes with 1GB of RAM. It runs Android 7.0 Nougat-based Star OS, and there is no word on whether the smartphone will be upgraded to Android 8.0 Oreo in future.

At the said price tag, the Z60 will go head-on with the likes of Nokia 3, Xiaomi Redmi 4, Redmi 4A and Motorola Moto C Plus. To make the deal better, Lava is backing the smartphone with two years of warranty which also covers a range of other smartphones from the company. Lava Z60 features and specifications

The Lava Z60 features a 5-inch FWVGA (854 x 480 pixels) display that offers a pixel density of 196ppi. The display comes with a layer of 2.5D curved glass on top. With 16GB of internal storage, there is also a microSD card slot for further expansion up to 32GB. Since the smartphone runs Android 7.0 Nougat, users will gain access to features like split screen, Google Assistant, and others. In terms of optics, the Z60 is equipped with a 5-megapixel camera on the rear with autofocus, LED flash, beautification and bokeh mode. It also has a 5-megapixel camera with LED flash on the front for selfies and video calling. It houses a 2,500mAh removable battery and connectivity options include dual SIM card support, WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and 4G LTE. However, there is no word on whether it supports VoLTE for HD voice calling.
