Apple's iOS 10 rolled out with new features and improvements; but the internet is not happy

Apple’s second iteration of iOS 10.1 public beta is out and here is how you can install it on your iPhone and iPad.

Apple has released the second iteration of the public beta version of its upcoming iOS 10.1 update. The new build comes with a lot of bug fixes, along with some improvements and a few new features. For iPhone 7 Plus users in particular, the iOS 10.1 public beta 2 will allow them to gain access to Apple’s Portrait Mode feature, which uses the 7 Plus’ dual lens camera to create a bokeh effect to give a DSLR-like feel.

Other than that, the iOS 10.1’s new build fixes the issue with the notification on the lock screens, which right now sometimes fail to take a user to the respective app when they click on a notification. Also, the public beta 2 comes with a redesigned iMessage app drawer, which now looks tidier, even if you have too many apps installed on your iMessage. Additionally, it also allows users to play message animation. However, to do that users will have to ensure that the ‘Reduced Motion’ feature is enabled under Accessibility options in Settings. The iMessage also comes with a new replay button underneath animations in the new build.

If you want to try the iOS 10.1 public beta 2 on your iPhone or iPad, it’s an extremely simple process. All you need to do is is sign up on this page on Apple’s website. You’ll then be able to download and install a special beta profile on your iPhone or iPad, which will give you access to iOS 10.1 public beta 2. Once the profile is installed, just go to Software Updates under the General options in Settings. From there just follow the on-screen instructions to install the update. ALSO READ: 5 new things you can do with Siri in iOS 10

Also, each public beta comes with a built-in Feedback Assistant app that appears in your Dock on your Mac and on the second page of your Home screen on your iOS device. When you come across an issue that needs addressing, send your report directly to Apple using the Feedback Assistant.

The iOS 10 was one of the most popular operating system by Apple. Within days of release, reports about the fast-paced adoption of the new iteration came flooding in. While Apple did not officially reveal the numbers, analytics firm Mixpanel’s data suggested that iOS 10 adoption had reached 14.53 percent in the first 24 hours of the release. The adoption rate of iOS 10 was also better than last year’s iOS 9, which reached 12.6 percent in 24 hours. This was despite the buggy rollout wherein the iPhones and iPads got soft bricked due to failed installations from OTA update. To recover from the bricked state, users were required to connect their iPhones or iPads to computer using the cable to restore using iTunes. Apple was quick enough to resolve the issue, but not before it affected hundreds. ALSO READ: Apple iOS 10 installed base after 24 hours is the same as Android Marshmallow’s in 10 months
