Karbonn Titanium Jumbo is the latest entrant in the budget segment, however, it lacks a fingerprint sensor.

Karbonn is really upping its game in the affordable 4G VoLTE segment. The company recently re-launched its A40 Indian smartphone in partnership with Airtel, for an effective price of Rs 1,399. Today, Karbonn has announced Titanium Jumbo, its battery-centric smartphone, which is available at a market operating price of Rs 6,490.

Key features of the Karbonn Titanium Jumbo include its massive 4,000mAh battery, and Android 7.0 Nougat out-of-the-box. It adds to the list of newer phones which run the latest Android version. The phone is available in color choices of black and champagne. Although the battery capacity is impressive, the Titanium Jumbo is not as impressive when it comes to the aesthetics. With a rather regular-looking chunky design, the phone features virtual controllers on the front panel. There’s no fingerprint sensor on the phone either. Now, this might be disadvantageous for a company battling in a highly competitive market where fingerprint sensors have become a mandate.

Karbonn Titanium Jumbo specifications, features

Talking about the specifications, the Titanium Jumbo features a 5-inch HD IPS display. Under the hood, a 1.3GHz quad-core SoC is paired with 2GB of RAM, and 16GB of internal storage that is expandable up to 64GB via microSD card. ALSO READ: Beyond Reliance Jio, incumbent telcos need to create solutions for India’s data problem

If one is to compare, the Xiaomi Redmi 4 offers a rear fingerprint sensor, and a slightly thicker 4,100mAh battery. It is priced at Rs 6,999, and features a 5-inch full HD display. For optics, there’s a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, but up front, there’s a lower 5-megapixel camera for selfies. ALSO READ: Vodafone-Idea might be working on a series of low-cost 4G phones: Report
