Polarization effect on Pixel 2 XL, Apple iPhone 8 Plus and first-generation Pixel compared.

All this while we have been hearing problems like the clicking sound and burn-in issue with the Pixel 2 smartphone. Now, Pixel 2 XL users have reported a blue tint that can be seen when looking at the phone from different angles. Reports suggest that this is mainly due to the use of low-quality OLED display.

The Google Pixel 2 XL has that very noticeable blue tint when you try and view the phone in a different angle. According to Phonearena, the problem with the smartphone is caused due to a polarizer that has been applied. A video demonstration compares polarization effect on Pixel 2 XL, iPhone 8 Plus and last year’s Google Pixel. The iPhone 8 Plus clearly stands at the top and does a much better job with its polarizer. For those who are unaware, screen polarizers allow you to see your phone display when you look at it wearing your sunglasses. However, the sad part is, this is a hardware issue and there is no way to get it fixed.

During the launch, we heard Google brag about the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL screens. “The Pixel 2 XL screen has been designed with an advanced POLED technology, including QHD+ resolution, wide color gamut, and high contrast ratio for natural and beautiful colors and renderings,” Google’s statement read.

Another problem that’s being reported by users of both Pixel 2 models is a high-pitched noise produced by the phone. Pixel 2 users are now complaining about clicking and high-pitched sounds emitting from the devices. However, Google has offered a temporary fix for this problem. Google suggests users turn off the NFC if they hear the ticking sound. ALSO READ: Watch the Google Pixel 2 go through a series of torture tests
