
The Philips X596 is backed up by a 4,000mAh battery.
Philips has today announced the launch of a new entry-level smartphone in China, called the X596. The smartphone was certified by TENNA last month, and it comes in two variants – 32GB variant priced at RMB 1,299 (Rs 12,700 approximately), and 64GB variant priced at RMB 1,499 (Rs 14,600 approximately). The phone is currently up for pre-orders, and will start shipping from November 5.
The Philips X596 comes with an aviation grade aluminum alloy material body. Unlike the ongoing trend, the Philips X596 comes with broad bezels on the top and bottom of the phone. Up front, you can see the capacitive buttons. At the back, the camera and the fingerprint scanner are placed at the center, with the Philips logo right below it.

In terms of specifications, the X596 features a 5.5-inch full HD display with 2.5D curved glass on top. Under the hood is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 octa-core processor clocked at 1.4GHz and paired with 4GB of RAM. For photography, the smartphone sports a 16-megapixel camera at the rear as well as the front. The rear camera comes with LED flash. The phone packs a 4,000mAh battery, which supports fast charging. In terms of connectivity, the smartphone comes with dual-SIM, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g/n), Bluetooth, GPS/AGPS/GLONASS, and micro USB support. On the software front, the smartphone runs Android 7.1 Nougat out-of-the-box.
