Panasonic had announced its plans for the smartphone industry in India this year. Panasonic plans to spend Rs 200 crore on smartphone marketing with a promise to launch over 10 devices under the Rs 15,000 price bracket. The latest smartphone in line is the Eluga A4 launched with a price tag of Rs 12,490. The smartphone is available offline only via Panasonic’s authorized dealers.
The highlight of the new Panasonic Eluga A4 is its massive 5,000mAh battery. At its competitive price point and specifications offered, the Eluga A4 would compete against the likes of Xiaomi Redmi Note 4, Lenovo K8 Plus, and the Moto G5S. The smartphone is available in three color options of Champagne Gold, Mocha Gold, and Marine Blue.

The Panasonic Eluga A4 features a 5.2-inch HD (720p) display with a 2.5D curved glass on top. Under the hood is a MediaTek MT6737 quad-core processor clocked at 1.25GHz. The smartphone comes with 3GB of RAM, and 32GB of internal storage that is further expandable up to 128GB via a microSD card. In the photography department, the Panasonic Eluga A4 sports a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash. Up front, it houses a 5-megapixel camera for selfies and video calling. Connectivity options available on the Eluga A4 include dual-SIM support, 4G with VoLTE support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and USB OTG. On the software front, the smartphone runs on Android 7.0 Nougat. As seen in previous Panasonic smartphones, the Eluga A4 is also powered by the company’s AI-based ARBO assistant. ARBO studies the usage pattern of the smartphone, and makes suggestions accordingly. The Eluga A4 will join the company’s long line of budget smartphones including the P99, Eluga I4, Eluga Ray 500 and Eluga Ray 700. Of the lot, the Eluga Ray 500 which is priced at Rs 8,999, stands out for its dual-camera setup at the rear. The smartphone sports a 13-megapixel wide-angle camera of f/2.0 aperture, and an 8-megapixel sensor of f/2.4 aperture. The dual cameras allow users to click photos in normal angle and wide angle.
