SwiftKey Photo Themes

You can now customize your SwiftKey keyboard with pictures.

SwiftKey has been updated with a new feature called Photo Themes. As the name suggests, Photo Themes allows users to create a personalized theme for SwiftKey Keyboard. This feature is available for both Android and iOS. You would need to update SwiftKey to the latest version by heading over to the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store.

Photo Themes can be found on the ‘Themes’ tab located under ‘SwiftKey Settings’. You can either use an image from the app itself or choose one from your Photos gallery. The image will appear as a background on your SwiftKey Keyboard. Android users can also customize to put borders on the keys, symbols and secondary characters as well. iOS users, on the other hand, can customize the color of their keys which will appear when pressed. This feature is under the ‘Design’ tab on the SwiftKey app.

SwiftKey has also partnered with Keith Ladzinski, National Geographic contributing photographer for the launch of Photo Themes. On SwiftKey app, you will find 12 photographs clicked by Ladzinski, which comprise mostly of nature. You can choose from among the 12 images for the background of your SwiftKey keyboard.

In addition to this, SwiftKey is also organizing a contest for Photo Themes. Those interested can submit their customized SwiftKey boards on Twitter using the hashtag #photothemes. This contest will continue for the month of November, and winners will be chosen each week. For this contest, winners will be awarded with gifts like an Amazon gift card worth $150 (approximately Rs 9,900), and a limited edition SwiftKey hoodie sweatshirt, among others. SwiftKey’s introduction of Photo Themes does come as good news for its users. However, the feature seems a little delayed as its competition like Gboard has had this feature for quite sometime now. Gboard allows users to customize their keyboard with colored themes or pictures. SwiftKey had also recently launched GIF support on the app, which also arrived slightly late.
