
Here's how the Infinix Zero compares against its competitors.
Infinix Mobile has added two new smartphones to its product portfolio – the Infinix Zero 5 and Infinix Zero 5 Pro. The Zero 5 is priced at Rs 17,999, whereas the Zero 5 Pro will retail at Rs 19,999. Both the smartphones will be available exclusively via Flipkart starting November 22 at 12PM. Infinix portrays the Zero 5 as the “real dual-camera smartphone” in India.
Taking its highlight and other specifications into consideration, the Zero 5 will face competition from existing smartphones in India. These include Xiaomi Mi A1, Moto X4 and Honor 9i. Price
The Infinix Zero 5 and the Honor 9i are priced the same at Rs 17,999. The cheapest of the lot is Xiaomi’s Mi A1 with a price tag of Rs 14,999. Whereas, the Moto X4 stands as the most expensive with the base variant offered at Rs 20,999, and the high-end model retailing at Rs 22,999. Display
The Infinix Zero 5 features a 5.98-inch full HD JDI display with a 2.5D curved glass on top. The Mi A1 has a slightly smaller 5.5-inch full HD display, also protected by a 2.5D curved Gorilla Glass. Boasting the biggest display here is the Honor 9i with a 5.9-inch full HD+ display of 18:9 aspect ratio and a 2.5D curved glass on top. The Moto X4, on the other hand, has the smallest display of 5.2-inch and full HD resolution covered with Gorilla Glass for protection.
Chipset, RAM and Storage
In this list, you get processors from three different manufacturers. The Infinix Zero 5 is powered by MediaTek Helio P25 processor, while the Honor 9i runs in-house Kirin 659 octa-core processor. The Mi A1 comes with a Snapdragon 625 octa-core processor, and the Moto X4 is also powered by Qualcomm but with a Snapdragon 630 SoC. In terms of memory, the Infinix Zero 5 boasts a massive 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The Mi A1 and Honor 9i both pack 4GB of RAM and 64GB of expandable storage. Lastly, the Moto X4 comes with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage. It also has another variant on offer with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage but at a higher price.
Cameras
This category is the most exciting as all four smartphones, with the key highlight being the dual-camera setup. Starting with the Infinix Zero 5, it sports a combination of 12-megapixel wide-angle lens and 13-megapixel telephoto lens with DSLR-like Bokeh effects, and 2X optical zoom. Up front, it houses a 16-megapixel camera of f/2.0 aperture with beauty and bokeh mode. The Mi A1′s dual-camera setup comprises of a 12-megapixel wide-angle and telephoto lens pair with 2X optical zoom. For selfies, it sports a 5-megapixel camera. The Honor 9i has a total of four cameras, with two in the front and back. Up front, the Honor 9i houses a combination of 13-megapixel primary sensor and a 2-megapixel secondary sensor. At the rear, there’s a combination of 16-megapixel and 2-megapixel sensors. The Moto X4′s photography specifics include 12-megapixel dual pixel sensors of f/2.0 aperture, and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide angle sensor with 120-degree field of view, f/2.2 aperture. It has a 16-megapixel snapper with flash and f/2.0 aperture for selfies.
Battery
The Infinix Zero 5 leads here with the biggest 4,350mAh battery along with fast charging support. The Honor 9i comes second with 3,340mAh battery, followed by the Mi A1 with 3,080mAh battery. Connectivity and OS
In terms of connectivity, all four smartphones come with dual-SIM support, 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth, 3.5mm audio jack, and Wi-Fi. However, the Moto X4 offers Bluetooth 5.0 in comparison to the others. On the OS front, the Infinix Zero 5 runs Android Nougat-based XOS 3.0. The Honor 9i also runs Android Nougat-based EMUI 5. As for the Moto X4, it runs Android 7.1 Nougat with an Android Oreo upgrade expected in a few months. The Mi A1 stands out as it runs stock Android Nougat 7.1.1, courtesy of Google’s Android One program. This further ensures an Android Oreo upgrade soon.
