Google’s Gboard app is one of the most interactive and exciting third-party keyboard apps. It comes with interesting features such as using photos as background, GIF support, and in-built apps like YouTube, Maps, and Google Search. Google has now updated Gboard on Android devices with new stickers and 40 new languages. The update also brings bug fixes and performance improvements.
Among the 40 new languages, the notable inclusion is the Japanese language in the app which is a non-Latin language. With this Google has added a total of 120 number of languages supported on Gboard to 120. If you haven’t added any other language on Gboard, then you can do so by tapping the G logo on the app and going to the Settings menu. You can then search for the preferred language and set it on the app. You can manually open the app and add the language as well. You can later switch between languages by pressing and holding the spacebar.
Stickers are a new addition to the app and can be found located under the emoji icon. As of now, there are four categories of pre-loaded stickers to choose from. The first one includes emoji which actually look like Apple’s Animoji. The rest three include animations with mostly messages like Hello, OK, Good Morning, among others. One sticker pack also comes with relationship stickers like hearts, ‘Miss you’, and more. There’s also a Google Allo integration which allows you to make a sticker with your selfie.
Tapping on it will take you to the Google Allo app where you will have to create an account if you don’t have one. After you click you selfie, the app will make selfies for you which you can later customize as well if you wish to. Your selfie sticker app will be available on Gboard. You can also buy sticker packs from the Play Store and create Bitmoji as well from the app. Sticker packs and Bitmoji are already quite popular in Apple’s iMessage and Snapchat, respectively.
