BlackBerry KEYone successor with Snapdragon 660 SoC, 6GB of RAM leaked

BlackBerry is reportedly working on a successor of this year’s KEYone smartphone. This report is a result of a leak, which was spotted on a benchmarking website, that reveals a bunch of details about the new smartphone.

According to the Geekbench leak, a BlackBerry device with the model number Qualcomm BBF100-1 was testing for benchmark. It’s successor to KEYone has been judged by the similarity of its model number to KEYone’s, which was BBB100-X where X is a number depending on the region, suggests GSMArena.

As for the listing, the supposed BlackBerry device yields pretty good scores 1,532 single core, and 4,184 multi-core. The device is shown powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 CPU paired with 6GB of RAM. It also reveals the device running Android 8.0 Oreo operating system.

Further, there have been reports in the past about the so-called BlackBerry KEYtwo, which suggest that the KEYone successor would feature a display with a resolution of 1620×1080 pixel and will most definitely have a QWERTY keyboard.

For perspective, the BlackBerry KEYone, launched in India for Rs 39,990 feaured a 4.5-inch IPS LCD display, and was powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 octa-core 2.0 GHz processor, paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB internal storage. Also on-board comes a microSD card slot for expandable storage. For photography, it sports a 12-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel selfie camera.

The BlackBerry KEYone is fuelled by a 3,505 mAh battery with quick charge 3.0 support. Connectivity options include fingerprint sensor, BlackBerry security software, 4G LTE support, 4K video recording support, NFC, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS. The smartphone runs Android 7.1 Nougat.
