The Black Friday sales are on, and companies have the craziest discounts on their products. However, OnePlus seems to be feeling rebellious this year. The company is offering a discount of just $0.01 on the new OnePlus 5T, which is 60 paise in Indian currency.

OnePlus says that it aims to deliver its products at fair price all-year round so it can’t offer any huge discounts just for the occasion. This obviously implies that the competition tends to overcharge you when its phones are not on sale. “Our goal is to share good technology with the world. That’s why we price our devices fairly year-round so that you don’t have to double check the math. Say no to Black Friday price games,” OnePlus writes.

With a very bold stance, OnePlus continues to say, “We prefer to keep the focus on making good products to share with the world. In order to do so, we have to make some money in the process. At the same time, our users would like to save some money. This is where fair pricing comes in. Cut through the BS. Keep things simple. We make money to fund our product and feed the team. You save money and get the best user experience, whether it’s Black Friday or Taco Tuesday.”

While no discounts are being offered by OnePlus, the company is currently holding a ‘Preview Sale’ for the OnePlus 5T. The sale kicked off at 12PM today via Amazon India and oneplusstore.in.

OnePlus also held an early access sale on November 21, at the end of which the company announced that the OnePlus 5T became company’s fastest selling smartphone in just six hours. OnePlus 5T is available in two variants – 64GB storage variant with 6GB of RAM, priced at Rs 32,999, and 128GB internal storage paired with 8GB RAM, priced at Rs 37,999. The smartphone will be going up for an open sale on November 28.

The OnePlus 5T features just a handful of upgrades over its predecessor, the OnePlus 5. As opposed to the 16:9 ratio 5.5-inch screen on the OnePlus 5, the OnePlus 5T features a 6-inch full HD+ Optic AMOLED screen with an 18:9 aspect ratio and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on top. Other than that, the fingerprint sensor has been moved to the back, and the OnePlus 5T now sports a facial recognition feature for biometric authentication, which OnePlus claims can unlock the phone in just 0.4 seconds.

Other than that, the OnePlus 5T is very similar to the OnePlus 5 in terms of specifications and features. Just like the latter, under the hood, the OnePlus 5T is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 octa-core SoC clocked at 2.45GHz. On the camera front, the smartphone has a dual-camera setup with a combination of a 20-megapixel sensor of f/1.7 aperture and a 16-megapixel sensor with f/1.7 aperture. Which means the specifications remain the same, with a slight upgrade in the sensor. While the phone has been launched with Android 7.1.1 out-of-the-box, the OnePlus 5T runs OxygenOS 4.7.0, which is an improvement over OxygenOS 4.5 on the OnePlus 5.
