The unannounced Samsung Galaxy J3 (2017) has been spotted online with Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor along with 2GB of RAM and Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow.
Samsung has long been rumored to be working on the Galaxy J3 (2017). The unannounced smartphone has been subjected to many leaks. It has been spotted previously on TENAA and Indian import-export site Zauba, revealing important details about the phone. Back in June, render images of the Galaxy J3 (2017) had also leaked, revealing design of the smartphone. Rumors around the Samsung Galaxy J3 (2017) are showing no signs of slowing down, and now the smartphone has been spotted on benchmark website Geekbench.
The Geekbench listing, first spotted by Priceraja, shows a score 658 for single core and 1833 for multi core. The Samsung Galaxy J3 (2017) is said to be a low-end smartphone and according to a few reports the smartphone is expected to be priced around Rs 10,000. The Galaxy J3 (2017) will be successor to the Samsung Galaxy J3 (2016), which was launched in March this year for Rs 8,990. According to the listing, the smartphone would come with Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 quad-core processor clocked at 1.4GHz and paired with 2GB of RAM. On the software front, the smartphone will run Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow out-of-the-box. It is worth noticing that the previous rumors suggested that the smartphone would run Android 5.1 Lollipop.
From what we know so far, the Galaxy J3 (2017) will come with a 5-inch full HD AMOLED display. Rumors from the past state that the phone will be available in two variants. The difference between the two variants is that the one comes with an HD display while the other features a full HD display. On the camera front, the smartphone will sport an 8-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front camera. Armed with a 2,600mAh battery, the Galaxy J3 (2017) is said to be priced under $200, which is approximately around Rs 13,300, but that could vary by country.
We can also expect the smartphone to come with additional features like S-bike mode, which is also available on other J series smartphones. In the S-bike mode, when the biker gets a call, the caller actually hears a pre-recorded message saying that the person is currently riding a bike. The biker can even reject the call using a gesture.
Talking about the design of the upcoming Galaxy smartphone, the smartphone is said to feature a full metal design and will be available in gold and grey color variants. Up front, the smartphone comes with capacitive button along with a home button, which is expected to double up as the fingerprint scanner.
In comparison, the Galaxy J3 (2016) comes with a 5-inch HD Super AMOLED display. It is powered by 1.5GHz quad-core processor paired with 1.5GB of RAM. It also includes 8GB internal storage, which can be further expanded using a microSD card. On the photography front, the Galaxy J3 (2016) features an 8-megapixel rear camera with f/2.2 aperture, and a 5-megapixel selfie camera up front. It also features a 2,600mAh battery that Samsung claims is good enough for up to 22 hours of talktime and up to 14.5 days on standby mode. Connectivity options include dual-SIM card slots, 4G LTE support with data saving mode, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth 4.1. On the software front, it runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop.
Besides the Galaxy J3 (2017), Samsung is also being rumored to soon launch a new smartphone under its C series. Dubbed the Galaxy C9, the smartphone is expected to feature a 6-inch full HD Super AMOLED display. It is said to be powered by Snapdragon 652 processor. The Galaxy C9 is expected to come with 6GB of RAM. Also on offer will be 64GB, which would be further expandable via a microSD card. It will sport a 16-megapixel camera both on the front and the back. On the software front, the Galaxy C9 is expected to run on Android Marshmallow out-of-the-box. Connectivity options include 4G LTE support, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Wi-Fi Direct and Bluetooth 4.2.
Samsung is also rumored to soon unveil the Galaxy Grand Prime (2016), which is expected to feature a 5-inch display. It will be powered by a MediaTek MT6737T quad-core processor paired with Mali-T720 GPU and 2GB of RAM. Also on offer will be 32B of internal memory. On the camera front, the smartphone is said to sport an 8-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel selfie camera. On the software front, the device will ship with Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow out-of-the-box, however it is anticipated that the device will receive Android 7.0 Nougat update later.
