
The latest leaked images of the Samsung Galaxy C9 Pro reveal all its specifications and its uncanny similarities to the OPPO R9s Plus.
A lot has already been speculated about the upcoming Galaxy C9, and turns out, Samsung is also gearing up to launch a ‘Pro’ variant as well. After a bunch of photos of the Samsung Galaxy C9 Pro were leaked on Weibo, almost all details have become known about the smartphone. The leaked photos surfaced with the smartphone’s specifications in tow. The pictures reveal that the Samsung Galaxy C9 Pro will feature a large 6-inch display and will be sleek with a thickness of 6.9mm. It will be powered by the recently announced Qualcomm Snapdragon 653 SoC.
Under the hood, the Snapdragon 653 chipset will be accompanied by an Adreno 510 GPU, along with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of on-board storage, which will be expandable up to 256GB using a microSD card. On the photography front, the smartphone will sport a 16-megapixel primary and a 16-megapixel secondary camera, both of which will have f/1.9 aperture. Additionally, the leaked images show that the smartphone will come with Samsung Pay, using both NFC (Near Field Communication) and MST (Magnetic Secure Transmission). Other than that for connectivity, the smartphone will support Type-C USB post. The Galaxy C9 Pro will be fuelled by a 4,000mAh battery and will run on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow OS. The smartphone will be available in two colors – a gold and a rose gold variant.
The OPPO R9s Plus, which also features the new Snapdragon 653 chipset, was the first smartphone launched powered by the SoC. Interestingly, the specifications leaked on the Galaxy C9 Pro are hauntingly similar to that of OPPO R9s Plus. The latter also features a 6-inch display and a 16-megapixel primary and 16-megapixel secondary camera. The OPPO R9s Plus also comes with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage that can be further expanded up to 256GB via microSD card. Other than that, the Samsung Galaxy C9 has been speculated for a long time now as well. The smartphone has already been certified in China and the US. Adding confirmation to its news was the recent listing of the Galaxy C9 on China’s TENAA and the FCC in the US. By now, we already know that the Samsung Galaxy C9, like its Pro variant, will feature a 6-inch full HD Super AMOLED display. Under the hood of the Galaxy C9, an octa-core Snapdragon 652 processor paired with Adreno GPU is expected to run. The Galaxy C9 is expected to come with 6GB of RAM, which if turns out to be true, will make it the first Samsung smartphone to have this amount of RAM. Its onboard storage is expected to be 64GB, which would be further expandable via a microSD card.
As for the cameras, what has been speculated so far is that the Galaxy C9 could sport a 16-megapixel camera both on the front and the back. The rear 16-megapixel camera as shown in the teaser will be equipped with LED flash. On the software front, the Galaxy C9 is expected to run on Android Marshmallow out-of-the-box. The expected connectivity options on the Galaxy C9 are 4G LTE support, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Wi-Fi Direct and Bluetooth 4.2. The smartphone will be fuelled by a 4,000mAh battery. Essentially, the only prominent difference between the Galaxy C9 and the Galaxy C9 Pro is the chipset. While the Galaxy C9 runs the Snapdragon 652 SoC, the Pro version comes with the latest Snapdragon 653.
