LeEco Le X850 with 13-megapixel dual camera, Snapdragon 821 SoC spotted on TENAA

In a recent leak, a new high-end smartphone by LeEco has been spotted on China’s telecom regulatory agency TENAA, and the certification has revealed a bunch of details about the smartphone.


LeEco seems set to soon launch a new high-end smartphone. Rumored as the LeEco Le X850, the smartphone has received a certification by Chinese telecommunication authority TENAA. The certification gives away a sneak peek into the handset’s specifications and features. With the Le X850, LeEco seems to be joining the growing trend of dual camera set up. According to the listing, the smartphone has two 13-megapixel cameras on the back along with a 16-megapixel front facing camera for selfies.

Spotted by PC Tablet, the listing reveals that LeEco‘s Le X850 is equipped with a 5.7-inch display with 2K resolution. It would measure 7.99mm in thickness and weigh about 185gm. The smartphone will be powered by Snapdragon 821 chipset clocked at 2.3GHz, and Adreno 530 GPU for graphics, along with 4GB of RAM. It will come with 64GB of onboard storage. The highlight of the smartphone is the dual camera. Of late several smartphone companies like Apple, LG, Xiaomi, and Huawei among others have launched phones with dual cameras. Right now, there’s no word on how the dual camera works.

Additionally, the leak also reveals that the Le X850 will be fueled by a 3,900mAh battery with fast charging technology. The smartphone is expected to come in two color variants – coffee grey and gold charm. Though the leak doesn’t mention it, the latest LeEco smartphone is likely to skip 3.5mm audio jack to make way for its propriety Type-C CDLA port, which we have seen on the recent Le 2 series of phones.

As far as its availability is concerned, LeEco hasn’t confirmed anything about making or even existence of any such phone. As per pricing, looking at the top-of-the-line specs, the Le X850 will presumable be priced on the higher side as well.

LeEco’s most recent smartphone launches were the Le Pro 3 and Le S3 in the US. The Le Pro 3 features a 5.5-inch full HD (1080p) display covered with a 2.5D glass. Under the hood, the Le Pro 3 is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 821 quad-core processor clocked at 2.35GHz paired with 4GB/6GB of RAM (LPDDR4), Adreno 530 GPU. On the photography front, the smartphone is equipped with a 16-megapixel rear camera of aperture f/2.0, PDAF and dual tone LED flash. It can also record 4K videos at 30fps. Up front is an 8-megapixel selfie camera with wide-angle lens. It is fuelled with a 4,070mAh non-removable battery, which the company claims to last for over a day with normal usage. The company has also added support for Quick Charge 3.0 for fast charging. In terms of connectivity, you get dual SIM card slots, 4G LTE, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi 802.11ac and GPS. The smartphone runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow OS based on eUI 5.8 custom UI.

Additionally, the recently launched Le S3 in the US. It features a 5.5-inch full HD display. It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 processor. And features a 16-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel selfie camera. With the aim to take on giants like Apple, Netflix, Google and others, Chinese internet and technology conglomerate, late last month, LeEco entered the US consumer electronics market. LeEco launched a slew of products in the US including smartphones, TVs, smart bikes, a video streaming service, concepts for virtual reality headsets and self-driving cars. At the “Ignite the Eco World” event, LeEco also unveiled an open, integrated internet ecosystem that involved platform, content, apps and connected smart devices.

Additionally, to woo new customer in the US, LeEco created “EcoPass”, which offers users benefits like two-year warranty for LeEco smartphones and three-year warranty for TVs. Along with that, it offers 5TB of cloud storage on LeCloud and unlimited storage for photos and videos and unlimited movie viewing on movie viewing service Fandor.
