Though there is no word on an official launch date, the m5 Note has been spotted on Geekbench and AnuTuTu benchmarking sites that reveal some key information about the smartphone.
The Meizu m5 Note will be the successor to the m3 Note launched earlier this year, and it is expected to bring improvements in specifications and features. According to the listing spotted by MySmartPrice, the AnTuTu benchmark reveals that the Meizu m5 Note will feature a 1080p screen, though the size of the display is not known yet. The device is expected to be powered by a MediaTek Helio P10 octa-core processor clocked at 1GHz, and paired with 3GB of RAM.
On the camera front, the m5 Note will sport a 13-megapixel primary camera with auto-focus, LED flash and 1080p video recording. For selfie lovers, there’s expected to be a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. On the software front, the smartphone will run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow wrapped under Flyme OS out-of-the-box. The m5 Note scored 687 and 2,481 on its single-core and multi-core tests respectively in Geekbench benchmarking test.
Prior to this, two new smartphone under Meizu branding with model numbers M621 and M682 had passed the 3C certification in China. While there are no details available about the smartphones yet, it is assumed that the M682 is the Meizu m5 Note. The Meizu m3 Note came with model number M681 and is the closest to the leaked model numbers. Until now, we have no word on when Meizu plans to unveil the m5 Note. Pricing details also remains unknown at the moment.
To put these leaked specs into perspective, the m3 Note was launched with a 5.5-inch full HD (1080p) display, 1.8GHz MediaTek Helio P10 octa-core processor, microSD card slot, 13-megapixel rear camera, 5-megapixel front-facing camera, 4,100mAh battery, and connectivity features like dual SIM slots and, 4G LTE.
Apart from the m5 Note, Meizu is also widely expected to launch its first bezel-less smartphone next month to take on the Xiaomi Mi MIX. Per reports, this smartphone could be called Meizu Pro 7 and it will come in two variants. One is expected to feature 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, priced around $396 (approximately Rs 26,800), while the other is expected to feature 6GB of RAM and 128GB storage, priced at $454 (approximately Rs 30,700). Interestingly, earlier rumors claimed that the Pro 7 would come with dual-edged curved display and a dual-camera setup, both of which are missing on the latest leaked images.
The latest leak suggests that the Meizu Pro 7 will flaunt a 5.62-inch full HD Super AMOLED display with close to 100 percent screen-to-body ratio. It is also expected to be only 6.5mm thick, and come with a fingerprint scanner embedded below the front glass panel. In essence, Meizu’s upcoming smartphone will have an even greater screen-to-body ratio than Xiaomi’s smartphone. The Pro 7 is also expected to boast the company’s mCharge 4.0 rapid recharge system, and could come with an 8-megapixel front-facing camera.
