OnePlus is just a couple of hours away from unveiling its new OnePlus 3T smartphone. The keynote will be live streamed; here’s how you can catch all the action live.
OnePlus is hosting an event later today where it is widely expected to take the wraps off the next-smartphone, OnePlus 3T. The keynote kicks off at 11.30PM IST. OnePlus will be live streaming the launch event which you can watch via the company’s official Facebook page. You can also follow the live updates through the company’s official Twitter handle.
The OnePlus 3T is believed to be an upgraded version of the flagship smartphone OnePlus 3. Based on the information leaked just hours before the official announcement, the OnePlus 3T will retain OnePlus 3′s design, with similar Unibody Aluminium shell. The smartphone may come with the Gorilla Glass 5 protection. One of the official teasers had also hinted at the design similarities. The teaser showed the OnePlus 3T in front of a mirror which looked exactly like the OnePlus 3. While the rear of the device looks exactly like the OnePlus 3, the reflection on the mirror showed the letter ‘T’ on the front panel.
Talking about the changes, the new smartphone is expected to have a slightly bigger battery capacity at 3,080mAh as compared to the OnePlus 3′s 3,000mAh. If rumors are to be believed, the OnePlus 3T will be offered in both 64GB and 128GB storage capacities, whereas the OnePlus 3 was just offered with 64GB built-in storage. The latest OnePlus smartphone is likely to feature a new version of Oxygen OS based on Android 7.0 Nougat. Another highlight of the smartphone is likely to be upgraded Snapdragon 821 processor. There were some rumors making the rounds which suggested OnePlus may be adding an extra 2GB of RAM into the 3T, taking the total to 8GB. But according to the new leaks via Oppomart’s listing earlier today, OnePlus seems to have kept RAM at 6GB.
OnePlus 3T specifications
From what we know so far, the smartphone will be available in white and black color variants. It is said to measure 152.7 x 74.7 x 7.35mm and will weigh 158 grams. The OnePlus 3T is likely to feature a 5.5-inch screen with full HD (1920×1080 pixels) resolution. There were rumors of OnePlus opting for LCD displays; however co-founder Carl Pei recently confirmed that the company will stick with Optic AMOLED displays.
On the photography front, the smartphone is said to sport a 16-megapixel rear camera with Sony IMX398 image sensor and an 8-megapixel front camera. It will come with USB Type-C port along with support for Dash Charge technology.
OnePlus 3T price
The OnePlus 3T is expected to be priced at $499, which is Rs 33,800 approximately. However, earlier reports suggested that the OnePlus 3T will be priced roughly around $479, which is approximately Rs 32,000. In comparison, the OnePlus 3 was launched in India earlier this year, priced at Rs 27,999.
