LG G6

The LG G6 will look a lot similar to the predecessor, albeit with subtle tweaks.

After an unsuccessful stint with modular G5, LG is now looking to make a strong comeback with its next flagship smartphone, the G6. The company has already scheduled an event on February 2 at MWC 2017, where the company is going to showcase the flagship smartphone. While the official launch is still a few weeks away, we already have come across a details including a few leaked images of the device. Now, Ghostek, a mobile phone accessories company, has published a few renders of new cases for an LG smartphone, believed to be the G6.

The renders provide a glimpse at the design and other features expected on the G6. One of the most notable things is the slimmer form factor and does away with the camera bump on the rear. The back cut out clearly indicates place for a dual camera setup on the rear along with fingerprint reader. The module is quite similar to what we have already seen on the LG G5. That said, the smartphone could also come with a mix of metal and glass, doing away with the modular concept, which was heavily criticized for shoddy implementation. The media invites sent out by LG had also hinted at a slimmer phone with a bezel-less display.

The latest renders come days after LG revealed how it was working to make the device heating-proof. The LG G6 will feature copper heat pipes with thermal conductivity, something that is being used in laptops and PCs. The company claims the smartphone has been redesigned to provide more space between components in order to manage heat inside the device.
