The Huawei P10 Plus will reportedly boast an iris scanner in addition to the fingerprint sensor for security.
Huawei is expected to announce the P10 and P10 Plus at the upcoming Mobile World Congress 2017 and a lot of details about the purported smartphone have already been leaked. The latest information spilling out of the rumor mill hints at the Plus variant featuring not one but two biometric authentication sensors.
Based on the fresh leaks, the Huawei P10 Plus is expected to come with an iris scanner for biometric authentication. A report on GSMArena notes that in one of the alleged renders of the smartphone, the front panel features an extra sensor on the front of the phone, which could be an iris scanner. Interestingly, the renders also show a fingerprint sensor at the back panel which means the home button will have a singular function and not double up as a scanner for biometric unlocking.
Huawei P10 Plus specifications
In terms of specifications, the Huawei P10 Plus is expected to feature a curved screen similar to the Mate 9 Pro. Earlier reports suggested that the smartphone could come with a 5.5-inch display. It is likely to be powered by Huawei’s own Kirin 965 chipset clocked at higher speeds than the P10. The smartphone is expected to be available in 6GB RAM + 128GB storage and 8GB RAM + 256GB storage variants. Both the variants are said to include microSD card slot for further storage expansion.
For photography enthusiasts, the Huawei P10 Plus is expected to feature a dual rear camera module with a combination of 12-megapixel sensors that will offer DSLR-like bokeh effect in images. Up front will be an 8-megapixel camera for selfies and video-calling. Based on the leaked image, the rear camera is expected to feature a ring-flash that will surround the laser-assist sensor for autofocus.
The P10 Plus is expected to be fuelled by a 3,650mAh battery. On the software front, it will run the latest Android Nougat with EMUI 5.0 layered on top. ALSO READ: Huawei P10, P10 Plus to feature Alexa voice assistant, Google DayDream support

Fuelling the P10 will be a 3,100 mAh battery.
As revealed in earlier reports, the purported Huawei P10 could come in green and purple color variants. In the past, Huawei’s senior VP Richard Yu revealed that the new smartphones will come preloaded with Amazon’s voice assistant, Alexa, and will be Google DayDream ready. In terms of pricing, it is expected that the P10 will start at $699 (approximately Rs 47,200).
