Lenovo Tab3 8 Plus launch MWC 2017

Lenovo is expected to launch the Tab3 8 Plus at the upcoming MWC 2017 event.


In the run-up to MWC 2017, we have come across quite a few leaks around the Lenovo Tab3 8 Plus. Just yesterday, the tablet was spotted on a benchmarking website, which revealed its possible specifications. We’re treated to another report which reveals full specifications of the tablet, and along with it provides official press renders.

This report comes from an Italian publication (spotted by GSMArena), which reveals the specifications and also the look and design of the tablet. The Lenovo Tab3 S8 Plus is seen sporting a selfie camera lens on the front, and the rear camera placed on the top left corner of the tablet. The Lenovo branding is placed on the left side of the tablet as seen in its previous devices. The 3.5mm audio jack and the USB port are located on top of the tablet.

The dimensions of the Lenovo Tab3 8 Plus are 209.5×123.5×8.6 mm, and it weighs 320g. The Tab3 8 Plus will come with IP52 certification which makes the tablet “dust protected” and contact with water “shall have no harmful effect when the enclosure is tilted at an angle of 15 degrees from its normal position”. The tablet will be available in two color options of blue and silver, both featuring a “translucent” finish.

The Lenovo Tab3 8 Plus will feature an 8-inch full HD (1920×1200 pixels) display. At the core of the tablet will be Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 652 chipset paired with 3GB of RAM. The tablet will come with 16GB of onboard storage, which will be further expandable up to 128GB via a microSD card. There are some reports which suggest that the tablet will come with 32GB or 64GB of onboard storage.

In the photography department, the Tab3 8 Plus will sport an 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash. Up front, the tablet will house a 5-megapixel selfie camera. For power, the Lenovo Tab3 8 Plus will use a 4,250mAh battery. On the software front, the tablet will run on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow. Lenovo is likely to launch two variants of the Tab3 8 Plus in terms of connectivity. One variant with model number TB-8703F will come with Wi-Fi connectivity only, whereas the other variant with model number TB-8703X will feature both Wi-Fi and 4G LTE connectivity as well. The tablet will be equipped with stereo speakers from Dolby ATMOS which is a trend followed religiously by Lenovo. In comparison, the Tab3 8 launched before featured an 8-inch (1200×800 pixels) display, MediaTek quad-core processor, 1GB of RAM, and 16GB internal storage. The tablet also featured a 5-megapixel rear camera, 2-megapixel front-facing camera, 4,290mAh battery, and it came with IP52 certification as well. The tablet was launched with a price tag of $99 (Rs 6,800 approximately) for the Wi-Fi variant, and $149 (Rs 10,200 approximately) for the LTE variant.
