Here’s everything we know about Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy J7 (2017) so far.

While Samsung Galaxy A (2017) series was unveiled last month, the Galaxy J7 (2017) is still to launch. However, now the Galaxy J7 (2017) has been spotted on benchmarking website GFXBench, revealing specifications and features that are in line with previous leaks.

According to the listing, the Galaxy J7 (2017) will be powered by an octa-core Exynos 7870 processor, clocked at 1.5GHz. The chipset will be paired with a Mali-T830 GPU, and will be equipped with 2GB of RAM. A report by Android Headlines suggests that while it is not unique for a Samsung smartphone to feature an Exynos processor, this may indicate that Samsung may use an Exynos processor in some variants while choosing a processor from Qualcomm to use in others.

Sometime last month, there was another benchmark leak that surfaced online. Someone reportedly had a prototype of the Galaxy J7 (2017) and ran Geekbench 4 on the smartphone, consequently revealing a handful of details about the smartphone. The benchmark database revealed that the smartphone will run on the latest Android 7.0 Nougat OS, and will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 625 chipset clocked at 2.21GHz. The chipset has the Adreno 506 GPU built-in, along with 2GB of RAM. The smartphone carries the model number SM-J727P. ALSO READ: Samsung Galaxy J7 (2017) specifications leaked on benchmarking site ahead of launch

Recently leaked renders hint at a new rear panel design with a metallic strip for the camera and flash module on the smartphone. Additionally, last month there were also reports of the Galaxy J7 receiving Bluetooth certification.

Some video renders of the smartphone had also leaked sometime ago. It revealed the Galaxy J7 (2017) with a similar design as its predecessor but with the exception of a metal strip at the back. In terms of design, the Galaxy J7 (2017) features the volume buttons on the left while the right edge features the power button. From the renders, it appears the smartphone will be available in two color choices of white and grey. ALSO READ: Samsung Galaxy J7 (2017) with 3GB of RAM spotted on Zauba: Specifications and features
