LG Watch Sport along with the Watch Style is expected to launch next week.
All eyes are set on LG as it prepares to launch its upcoming flagship smartphone, the G6, at the MWC 2017 in Barcelona. LG could be hosting another event as early as February 9 where it is expected to launch its new smartwatches, dubbed Watch Sport and Watch Style. LG’s smartwatches have been rumored to run on the latest Android Wear 2.0 which is also slated to be launched on February 9. This has led to the speculation that Google and LG have co-developed the Watch Sport and Watch Style. We are already familiar with what to expect from the two smartwatches, and a new development in this space is the pricing for the Watch Sport.
The LG Watch Sport which is the bigger of the two smartwatches, is said to be priced at $349 (Rs 23,600 approximately). This comes from trusted sources of Android Police. It makes the Watch Sport $100 costlier than the Watch Style which is expected to be priced at Rs $249 (Rs 16,800). The difference in pricing between the two smartwatches makes some sense, as the Watch Sport is said to come with connectivity options like LTE and NFC unlike the Watch Style. Furthermore, the inclusion of NFC integrates Android Pay in the smartwatch. This would make the Watch Sport, the first smartwatch to feature Android Pay.
The LG Watch Sport and the LG Watch Style have had their pictures leaked as well. The Watch Sport is seen in its blurry form, with a circular dial and a digital crown sitting on the right side. Two more buttons are located above and below the digital crown. The Watch Style had been leaked just two days back, in two colors of silver and rose gold. This smartwatch also features a circular dial and a digital crown on the right side but without additional buttons.
LG Watch Sport specifications
The LG Watch Sport is expected to feature a 1.38-inch 480×480 pixels display. The smartwatch is said to come with 768MB of RAM, but the details on its storage details are still unknown. The LG Watch Sport is said to come with IP68 certification which would make it resistant to water and dust as well. For power, LG could opt for a 430mAh battery in the Watch Sport. Additional features on the Watch Sport include GPS, and a heart-rate monitor.
LG Watch Style specifications
The LG Watch Style on the other hand, is expected to feature a 1.2-inch 360×360 pixels P-OLED display. In terms of RAM and storage, the smartwatch could host 512MB of RAM and 4GB of onboard storage. The LG Watch Style could be powered by a 240mAh battery. The smartwatch could also come with IP67 certification which would make it dust resistant and also water resistant up to a certain extent.
