Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime launched

Samsung has launched the next generation of Galaxy J7 smartphone called, the Galaxy J7 Prime. It comes with features like fingerprint scanner, S-Bike mode, 5.5-inch full HD display to name a few.


There were many rumors doing round that a new Samsung Galaxy J smartphone is expected and is most likely to be the Galaxy J7 Prime. The rumors have proven to be true and Samsung has launched the Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime. The smartphone was listed on company’s Vietnam website with all the specifications and features of the new device. According to the listing, the device is powered by Exynos 7870, an octa-core processor clocked at 1.6GHz. The smartphone has been launched in Vietnam for VND 6,29,000, which is approximately Rs 19,000. The company hasn’t announced its plans to launch the phone in other markets as yet. However, considering the previous generations of Galaxy J7 were mid-ranged smartphone we expect Samsung to price the Galaxy J7 Prime in the same range when launched in India.

The smartphone will be available in black and old color variants. The smartphone also has a fingerprint scanner embedded on the home button of the smartphone up front. The Galaxy J7 Prime comes with the S-Bike feature, which was launched with the Samsung Galaxy J3 (2016) smartphone earlier this year.  The first Galaxy J7 smartphone was launched in 2015  at a price of Rs 14,999 and the J7 (2016) at a price of Rs 15,990.

The Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime flaunts a 5.5-inch full HD IPS display with resolution of 1080 X 1920 pixels. The display is protected by Gorilla Glass 4 on top to save the screen from scratches. The smartphone is powered by an octa-core processor clocked at 1.6GHz and is paired with 3GB of RAM. Also on offer is 32GB internal storage, which is expandable up to 256GB using a microSD card.

The smartphone sports a 13-megapixel camera with LED flash on the back, along with an 8-megapixel selfie camera on the front. The rear camera supports full HD video recording. The phone has 3,300mAh battery and supports connectivity options like Bluetooth, GPRS/ EDGE, 3G, 4G, Wi-Fi, and microUSB. The J7 Prime smartphone runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

Besides the Galaxy J7 Prime, Samsung is also widely reported to be working on next-generation versions of the Galaxy Grand Prime smarthphones, the Samsung Galaxy On5 (2016) and Galaxy On7 (2016) as well. All three smartphones have been spotted online multiple times and have already given us a fair idea on what to expect from them. However the company has not announced a particular date to launch the same.
