Sony launched four smartphones at this year’s MWC 2017, namely Xperia XZ Premium, Xperia XZs, Xperia XA1, and the Xperia XA1 Ultra. The Japanese company has now sent out media invites for the launch of the Xperia XZs in India, which is scheduled to be held on April 4. There is however no mention of the remaining four Xperia smartphones.

Successor to the Xperia XZ, the new Sony Xperia XZs comes with a few minor upgrades, but the talking point is a camera capable of capturing super slow-mo videos at 960 frames-per-second. The smartphone features a 19-megapixel Exmor RS sensor a the back, and a 13-megapixel selfie camera up front. The rear camera comes with a host of features starting with the new Motion Eye technology, which is based on the company’s CyberShot cameras, and can capture movement the normal human eye is unable to see.

The Sony Xperia XZs further comes with improved low light photographic capabilities, when compared to its predecessor. The smartphone also comes with a fast anti-distortion shutter that allows users to capture a fast moving object with precision. More features include SteadyShot with 5-axis image stabilization with Intelligent Active Mode. Sony says that this helps reduce shake along ‘with image stabilization that compensates for movement in five directions’.
