The Vivo V5 Plus features a pair of 20-megapixel and 8-megapixel selfie cameras.
Vivo, the official title sponsor of the Indian Premier League recently launched a limited edition of its selfie-centric smartphone, the V5 Plus. The IPL edition of the smartphone comes in matte black color and has an 18-carat IPL mascot engraved on the back. The smartphone also comes with pre-installed apps to keep up with the IPL matches. The IPL edition of the Vivo V5 Plus will go on sale today on Flipkart for a discounted price of Rs 25,990. The Vivo V5 Plus was originally priced at Rs 27,980.
Vivo’s new smartphone is available on Flipkart along with a few offers, which include no cost EMIs starting at Rs 2,166 per month. There is an exchange offer available as well with up to Rs 18,000 off. Axis Bank Buzz credit card users will get an extra five percent off on purchase of the Vivo V5 Plus.
The Vivo V5 Plus stands out for its dual-selfie camera setup which comprises of a 20-megapixel IMX376 sensor with f/2.0 aperture and 5P lens system, and an 8-megapixel camera with f/2.0 aperture. The dual selfie cameras work together to produce bokeh effects in selfies with the 20-megapixel sensor capturing photos and the 8-megapixel sensor for capturing depth information. Vivo V5 Plus specifications
The Vivo V5 Plus features a 5.5-inch full HD (1080p) display with a 2.5D curved glass on top and Corning’s Gorilla Glass 5 protection. At the core of the smartphone is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 625 octa-core processor clocked at 2GHz. The Vivo V5 Plus also sports a 16-megapixel camera on the rear end that features LED flash, f/2.0 aperture, and 4K video recording capabilities. The smartphone is powered by a 3,055mAh battery, and is also equipped with Vivo’s dual-charging engine technology for fast charging. On the software front, the smartphone runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow-based Funtouch OS 3.0. The connectivity options available on the smartphone include dual-SIM support (nano SIM slots), 4G LTE, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi and USB OTG. The smartphone also comes with a fingerprint sensor which is embedded on the home button.
At this price range, the Vivo V5 Plus faces competition from the likes of the OnePlus 3T, which is already a tested performer and offers flagship-level hardware. The Vivo V5 Plus will also go head-to-head with the recently launched OPPO F3 Plus, which also comes with a dual-selfie camera setup.
