
Some Moto Z users in India and Brazil have started receiving the Android 7.1.1 Nougat update.
Lenovo-owned Motorola is known for its consistency in rolling out the latest Android OS updates to its smartphones. The Moto Z is now in line to receive the Android 7.1.1 Nougat update, as Motorola has reportedly started the soak test for the device. This follows after Moto Z Play users in the US started receiving the Android 7.1.1 Nougat update.
As reported by TechDroider, a screenshot shared by a Moto Z user shows the ‘About’ page of the smartphone where the Android 7.1.1 Nougat update is visible. The update is rolling out as system version NPL.26.107. Those who haven’t received the update can manually check by going to Settings > About Phone > Software Update. The Android 7.1.1 Nougat update brings some changes to the Moto Z like new icons for Motorola’s system apps. This update also brings the latest Android Security Patch dated June 1 to the Moto Z.
In addition, the Android 7.1.1 Nougat update also adds Google’s video calling app Duo. Android 7.1.1 Nougat also updates the Moto Mods platform to version 2.0. The update also improves the stability of the smartphone and includes bug fixes. As aforementioned, the Moto Z Play users in the US have already received the Android 7.1.1 Nougat update. Also, Motorola was soak-testing this update for Moto Z Play users in India recently. This hints on an imminent rollout of Android 7.1.1 Nougat update for the Moto Z and Moto Z Play in India and Brazil. Moto Z specifications and features
As for the Moto Z, the smartphone launched last year and debuted Motorola’s modular functionality on smartphones. The Moto Z features a 5.5-inch Quad HD display and is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 quad-core processor. The smartphone comes with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of onboard storage which is further expandable via a microSD card. For photography, the Moto Z sports a 13-megapixel rear camera with dual LED flash, OIS, 4K video recording capabilities.
