Motorola teases Moto E4 Plus with 5,000mAh battery, likely to launch soon in India

The Moto E4 Plus boasts a massive 5,000mAh battery.


Motorola appears to be all set to finally introduce its Moto E4 Plus in India. The company has posted a series of tweets hinting towards a smartphone which doesn’t make a user feel ‘powerless’ again. Given that the USP of the Moto E4 Plus is its massive battery, it might indeed be the smartphone the company is hinting at. The Moto E4 Plus was first launched globally earlier this month along with the Moto E4

The company is also conducting a contest on Twitter where one lucky winner could win the ‘upcoming smartphone.’ Called the #Powerless contest, it asks users to describe how their phone’s dead battery ‘haunts’ them.

The Moto E4 Plus houses a 5,000mAh battery which makes it the first smartphone coming from the Lenovo-backed company to be fuelled with this much of power. When first announced, the smartphone was priced at $159. If the company decides to bring the smartphone at the same price point in India, it will sit in the under-Rs 15,000 budget category.

Moto E4 Plus features a metal unibody design with a home button on the front that doubles up as a fingerprint sensor. It isn’t carry an IP water and dust resistant rating, but has water-repellant nano coating for protection. ALSO READ: Moto G5 Review: Android Nougat on a budget

As for specifications, the Moto E4 Plus is equipped with a 5.5-inch HD display and is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 427 quad-core processor clocked at 1.4GHz and paired with either 2GB or 3GB of RAM. It further packs 16GB/32GB of internal storage which is expandable up to 128GB via microSD card. As of now, it is unclear if Motorola will launch both storage variants in India.

For photography, the Moto E4 Plus a 13-megapixel rear auto-focus camera with f/2.0 aperture and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with flash. USP of the smartphone, its 5,000mAh battery comes with support for fast charging. Motorola claims the battery can last up to 2 days on a single charge. The smartphone runs Android 7.1 Nougat out-of-the-box. Connectivity options include Bluetooth version 4.1, Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n and GPS.
