The Galaxy A series is Samsung's line of upper mid-range smartphones, and the latest variants could see this flagship feature.
Samsung is reportedly working on the 2018 edition of its Galaxy A5 and Galaxy A7 smartphones. Given the popularity of the Infinity Display, starting from the Galaxy S8 lineup and now the Galaxy Note 8, the new smartphones in the A series are also expected to take cue and follow the trend.
While it was known that Samsung was working on the upgraded Galaxy A series, latest report out of China throws light on specifications of the upcoming smartphones. According to the report, both the Galaxy A5 and Galaxy A7 (2018) will feature a 1080p Infinity Display and a fingerprint sensor positioned at the back.
Under the hood, the Galaxy A5 and Galaxy A7 (2018) will reportedly be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC with 4GB and 6GB of RAM respectively. The 2017 models focused on camera and the next year’s models are also likely to be camera-centric. According to a SamMobile report, both the upcoming models will feature a dual-camera setup at the front.
In the A series, the Galaxy A3 is the low-end model. If rumors are to be believed, the Galaxy A3 (2018) model is unlikely to sport the Infinity Display, which will be reserved for the upper mid-range models. Given the premium elements, the pricing of the A series might see a surge. However, as Samsung is yet to officially announce its plans for the A series, it is advisable to take the rumors with a pinch of salt.
