TCL had earlier revealed its plans to launch a new smartphone in October, and now we may have come across the first set of leaks. The smartphone has reportedly been granted the mandatory clearance from Federal Communications Certification (FCC) in the US. As per the FCC listing, the smartphone is codenamed ‘Krypton’.

According to GizmoChina, BlackBerry Krypton is likely to be a new addition to the company’s DTEK-series. The company has already launched smartphones like DTEK 50 and DTEK60 in the series. The Krypton is also speculated to launch as the much-rumored DTEK 70.

Prior to the FCC spotting, BlackBerry Krypton had cleared Wi-Fi Alliance certification, and received grants from Bluetooth SIG as well. Notably, the FCC listing shows a device bearing the model number BBD100-2. And, there can be four models as Wi-Fi Alliance granted connectivity standard certifications to three other smartphones tagged as BBD100-1, BBD100-3 and BBD100-6. Th company could also launch another smartphone named BlackBerry Juno with QWERTY keyboard.

If rumors are anything to go by, the BlackBerry Krypton could be an all-touch phone. From what we know so far, the smartphone will come with a 5.2-inch full HD display. The Krypton is expected to feature a fingerprint scanner underneath the display. ALSO READ: BlackBerry Priv will not get Android Nougat or Oreo update: Report

The smartphone will bear IP67 rating for waterproofing and dust resistance. It will house a 4,000mAh battery, which is allegedly rated to deliver two-days of usage.
