OnePlus executives have shared camera samples allegedly clicked using a OnePlus 5T.
OnePlus surely knows how to grab attention whether it’s through teasers or leaks. Successor to the OnePlus 5, the OnePlus 5T is heavily rumored to be launching sometime next month. The smartphone’s alleged hands-on photos have surfaced on Weibo. OnePlus co-founders Carl Pei and Pete Lau have also been teasing camera samples on Twitter possibly of the OnePlus 5T.
The leaked images on Weibo (via GSMArena) only confirm what has been rumored so far. The OnePlus 5T is expected to go through a big design change with an edge-to-edge display thereby ditching the home button. The leaked hands-on photo of the OnePlus 5T shows almost no bezels on the sides, and with very thin ones on top and bottom. The top chin houses the front camera, and the earpiece. The bottom bezel also appears to sport a speaker grille. The display is lit with a OnePlus wallpaper, and Android Nougat is seen running in the background.
The rear panel is seen with the dual cameras placed at the top-left corner with the LED flash sitting alongside. There’s a square fingerprint sensor, which would be a first for a OnePlus smartphone. Like the OnePlus 5, the antenna lines are at the top and bottom ends of the smartphone. ALSO READ: OnePlus 5T vs OnePlus 5 expected changes: Bezel-less display, improved camera and more

Carl Pei’s tweet features an image of a disco ball with the caption reading, “Cool photo, must have come from a great camera”. Pete Lau also joined in by tweeting a photo titled, “Impressive photo. Must be a great camera”. Many believe that these camera samples are from the OnePlus 5T, but nothing can be confirmed as yet.

As far as specifications are concerned, the OnePlus 5T is expected to feature a 6-inch AMOLED full HD+ (1080×2160 pixels). It will possibly be powered by the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC as seen in the OnePlus 5. In terms of storage, it will also continue with the same 6GB/8GB of RAM, and 64GB/128GB of internal storage options.
For photography, benchmark listings point to a single 20-megapixel rear camera for the OnePlus 5T as opposed to leaked renders. However, a dual camera module is also highly expected with possibly the same configurations, but upgraded features.
