Xiaomi gifted this edition to Kris Wu on account of his 27th birthday.
Xiaomi has launched a special edition of its Mi Note 3 smartphone for the company’s brand ambassador Wu Yifan. Popularly known as Kris Wu, the smartphone is dedicated to celebrate the Chinese-Canadian actor and singer’s 27th birthday on November 6. Xiaomi announced the launch of the smartphone as as a surprise birthday gift to Kris Wu.
While the features and specifications remain the same, the Mi Note 3 special edition has Kris Wu engraved at the back in gold. The smartphone also sports the same blue color as seen in the standard Mi Note 3. The smartphone also appears to have custom UI and themes of Kris Wu on the Mi Note 3. When the Mi Note 3 had first launched, it was Kris Wu who was the face of the brand. However, it isn’t known if Xiaomi would commercially launch the Kris Wu Mi Note 3. Even if it does, the smartphone will possibly be exclusive to the Chinese market.
Xiaomi Mi Note 3 specifications
To recall, the Xiaomi Mi Note 3 features a 5.5-inch full HD display with a dedicated Reading Mode. The smartphone is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 660 octa-core processor paired with 6GB of RAM. There are two storage options available of 64GB and 128GB. In the photography department, the Mi Note 3 sports a dual-camera setup which is a pair of 12-megapixel wide-angle lens and a 12-megapixel telephoto lens. The dual cameras are equipped with 2X optical zoom, 4-axis Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), and are optimized for low-light photography, and DSLR-like bokeh effect. Up front, the smartphone houses a 16-megapixel camera with adaptive AI Beautify technology for selfies. Its connectivity options available include NFC, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and USB Type-C port for charging and data transfer. On the software front, the smartphone runs on Android 7.0 Nougat based MIUI 9.
