Apart from the Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+, Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 is one of the most anticipated smartphones expected to launch next year. While we have already come across many specification leaks and live images of the Redmi Note 5, the latest report suggests that the Redmi Note 5 will be officially launched in January 2018.
From the past leaks, we have a fair idea that the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 will be undergoing a massive change when compared to this year’s Redmi Note 4. Keeping up with the trends, the Redmi Note 5 is said to have a big 5.99-inch FullView display with 18:9 aspect ratio with thin bezels.
The smartphone is expected to be powered by a Snapdragon 630 SoC, under the hood. The Redmi Note 5 will likely come in two variants – 32GB storage with 3GB RAM, and 64GB storage with 4GB RAM. The device is also expected to support dual-SIM connectivity with a hybrid SIM tray.
On the camera front, the phone is expected to sport a 12-megapixel sensor. However, leaks also suggest that the smartphone will feature a dual-camera setup including 16-megapixel and 5-megapixel sensors. Up front, there might be a 5-megapixel camera. On the software front, the device is said to run on Android Nougat 7.1.2 out-of-the-box. The report further hints that the device will come with a 4,000mAh battery, and a fingerprint scanner is most likely to sit at the back.
Keeping in mind Xiaomi’s pricing strategy, rumors suggest that the Redmi Note 5 should cost somewhere in the range of Rs 12,000 when it is launched in India.
