Xiaomi’s third sale for the Redmi 3s series starts today at 12PM IST. Both the Redmi 3s and the Redmi 3s will be available on Flipkart and mi.com. There is no registration required for the sale though. Read on to find out all about the Redmi 3s series.
Xiaomi’s Redmi 3s and 3s Prime will go on sale today in India at 12:00 PM IST. The Redmi 3s series will go on sale on e-commerce site Flipkart and also on mi.com. Good news is that there is no registration required for the purchase, but this could mean that the stock of the smartphones could be limited. The company is also offering an exchange offer from Rs 1,999 on both the devices. The first sale took place on August 9 while the second sale took place on August 17. The company clams it sold 90,000 units in just about eight minutes during the first sale. Right now Xiaomi hasn’t revealed how many units it will be putting up for the third sale.
Xiaomi had launched the Redmi 3s and Redmi 3s Prime in India August 3. The Redmi 3s is priced at Rs 6,999 and the Redmi 3s Prime is priced at Rs 8,999. The Redmi 3s Prime comes with similar features and specifications of the Redmi 3s, but has more onboard storage and RAM, and also comes with fingerprint scanner. The smartphones are available in three colors, gold, silver and grey. While Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 3 has garnered a heavy amount of popularity, the Redmi 3s may even exceed its popularity considering it targets the lower price segment.
Xiaomi Redmi 3s specifications
The Xiaomi Redmi 3s has a 5-inch display with HD resolution. The smartphone runs MIUI 7 based on Android 6.0. The smartphone is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 430 octa-core processor along with 2GB of RAM. The smartphone comes with 32GB onboard storage, and is expandable up to 128GB via microSD card.
For photography, the smartphone comes with 13-megapixel rear camera with PDAF and f/2.0 aperture and full HD video recording support. It has a 5-megapixel front facing camera with f/2.2 aperture and full HD video recording support.
Connectivity options include dual-SIM (hybrid SIM slot), 4G, VoLTE, Bluetooth 4.1 and Wi-Fi. The smartphone is powered by a 4,100mAh battery.
Xiaomi Redmi 3s Prime specifications
The Redmi 3s Prime is an upgraded variant of the Redmi 3s. While the Redmi 3s is priced at Rs 6,999, the Redmi 3s is available for Rs 8,999. The Redmi 3s Prime comes with almost same set of specifications and features of the Redmi 3s except that it has 3GB of RAM, 32GB of onboard storage, and a fingerprint scanner on the back.
Rest of the specifications like 5-inch HD display, 13-megapixel rear and 5-megapixel front cameras and Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor remain the same. The Xiaomi Redmi 3s Prime competes against the likes of Lenovo Vibe K5 Plus and Coolpad Note 3 Plus among other Rs 7,000 Android smartphones.
