After releasing Android Nougat for Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus earlier this year, Lenovo has revealed when the Moto G4 Play stands to get the update. As per the company, the update will be rolled out sometime in the month of June.
Lenovo-owned Motorola launched the Moto G4 Play back in August 2016. Priced at Rs 7,999, it is the cheapest among the three Moto G4 series. The Moto G4 Play currently boots Android Marshmallow. A report confirming the update on Android Authority quoted a Lenovo spokesperson saying that users ‘will start to see Android Nougat on Moto G4 Play in June.’
However, the ETA provided for the Android Nougat update by the company is only limited to Moto G4 Play smartphones sold in the US. It is still unclear when the handsets sold in other regions would get the Android OS update. Android Nougat 7.0 update will bring new features on board such as split-screen for multitasking, U-Touch fingerprint gesture controls, and added security features.
